Last night I spoke with five-star Buck signee Dante Fowler Jr. and he gave me an update on his situation.
The online course that Fowler reportedly had to finish last week was actually completed in early June. He had to make an A to qualify and did so, but according to him, his teacher did not turn in the grade and still had him currently enrolled in the class.
Fowler said she did not return repeated phone calls regarding the matter and he and his family had to go through Florida Virtual School to clear the situation up.
He said the UF admissions office is going to be made aware of everything Monday morning and will allow him to report this week (most likely Monday). Then Fowler will just be waiting on word from the NCAA Clearing House, but he said his transcript is complete so there won't be an issue.
He's looking forward to putting this ordeal behind him and making some major contributions on the field in the fall.
NOTE: Fowler has been in contact with Jonthan Bullard and he expects him to report this week as well. As I reported days ago, a source told me Bullard qualified academically but his paperwork was turned in late. So it sounds like he and Fowler are dealing with similar circumstances.
Fowler hasn't talked to Dante Phillips and doesn't know the reason(s) he hasn't reported yet.
