My guess is that the NCAA hasn't ruled on his guilt/punishment.
If they haven't ruled on his situation, there wouldn't be an appeal submitted by UA (as reported by Tidesports.) What can you appeal if there's no decision? It's an appeal
to a decision/ruling.
University of Alabama defensive back Tony Brown is facing an indefinite suspension from the NCAA, TideSports.com has learned.
The university has appealed and is awaiting a decision.
Let's look at it from another point of view. If the original report is true and his suspension is being appealed, if that appeal is denied, he's ineligible. So, if his team would have won their event this past weekend it would have to be forfeited for use of an ineligible player.
I can only think of two possible answers.
One, the report from Tidesports was wrong in the first place.
Or two, the appeal has already been resolved and he's regained/kept his eligibility.
(This would make sense IF he'd completed the restitution part of his punishment. BUT, Tidesports also said this wasn't a violation of team rules (the exact phrasing UA used when Ha-Ha took a loan from Corey Harris.) So, now we're back to square one. PED's is another ball of wax. )
BTW, the suspension was originally reported by Aaron Suttles. He's been very quiet this weekend on the Interwebs.
