FWIW, played in every game last year save one (starting in two.) A lot of that was due to the injuries we saw in the secondary.
What I find of note: The Tide's weakest personnel grouping last season was in our dime. (
@uagrad93 which is the same thing you and I pointed to this time last year: repeatedly.) Brown saw most of his action in the dime package. Simply put, he wasn't versed well enough in our schemes to push Cyrus or Eddie out.
In just the Ole Miss game alone: Treadwell's passing reception for a TD? Blown coverage by Brown. TD that tied game? Blown coverage by Brown. What side of the field were they attacking when they took the lead? Brown, again (though it was a slot guy not the wide out.)
He played a lot last year. But, he was far from being ready.
All that said: last year his performance reminded me a lot of Dre who was also thrown into the fire before he was ready. BUT, look how that turned out in the end...
