🏈 Tonight's Rammer Jammer !!!

The so-called "Rammer Jammer" makes me ashamed of being a Crimson Tide fan. :(

It's unsportsmanlike and shows lack of class. Seriously.

I said to my brother last night at the end of the game, "I really hope nobody sings that stupid song tonight because of all the opponents that we've faced in the Saban era, Mississippi State is the farthest from deserving to hear that BLEEP and it embarrasses me." He agreed.

How disappointing that I was wrong.

Everyone didn't sing along. There were about eight to ten thousand fans at the game who shared that same view as you. They had to check their cowbells at the door, though.

Apparently you missed the boat on what college football is all about and why it's better than any other event out there. As an alumni, it's simply a playful way of cheering your opponent for showing up, much like in the Bad News Bears and the little chant after a victory. Loosen up a little and enjoy life, don't be so uptight, good lord. There are worse tragedies in the world than a little chant at the end of a football game.

The fact that you even have to explain that is ridiculous. If any Bama fan doesn't like Rammer Jammer there's a golf bag with your name on it. So feel free to put your club in your hand and give those balls a good whloop. Roll Rammer Jammer!!

I don't have a problem with the cheer; I just hate it when done after we did not beat the h3!! out of anyone. In my view it was not warranted last night, because we almost let them come back and win the game.

We've had closer calls and sang it. That game was more in hand than it seemed, two scores and making them use essentially all the time left to get one score.

I didn't sing at the Cody FG against TN. THAT was a skin-of-the-teeth game...

Cody FG block against Tn was the first to come to mind with my comment, but I was not going to go through all the games it's warranted and not warranted. With our history with fielding onside-kicks (since 2009 I think we're now 1 of 3) I was not filling too comfortable at the end of the game.

I think it was well earned against Ms State, the #1 team in the country. It bothers me a little when we demolish a glorified high school team like Western Carolina 50-0. Yes, we beat the hell out of them, but so what?

I think a lot of folks are missing the point of it all. It's simply a little tradition we have. I don't think it means we ALWAYS "beat the hell outta you", but more so something we do to celebrate any victory, which is always a good thing. I don't think anyone in the nation laughs at us for singing it after Western Carolina, Georgia State, or anyone else for that matter because they have some of the same traditions at their school. You only sing Yeah, Alabama when you feel the drive was good enough to warrant it or do you sing it as a form of school pride and celebration? Come on guys, it's college football, it's the traditions that make it great. Next thing we'll hear is that "send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave" is inhumane. Have a little fun with it, wipe your brow, and enjoy this run we've been on since Coach Saban came in. Our guys fought their butts off for that victory on Saturday, so I was singing Rammer Jammer as loud as I could for their efforts and the satisfaction they gave me.
