🏈 To cap off a perfect UA athletics season I'd like to see...

...Murph get us another ring.

((don't tell me wrong board))

Honestly, what Gaspard has going with the team in his first year impresses me...that's a program going in the right direction.

But...here's what gets me...

If you watch the interviews/video of Kelsi right now you can see a mentality change from last season. What strikes me as VERY interesting is her "suitor" happens to be a guy we are familiar with...one Rolo.

If you get a chance listen to her mentality and the way she voices her approach this season...you'd swear you were listening to a female Nick Saban.

**On a side note**

Funny hearing the Bows coach talk about the facilities...as close of a quote as I can muster..."We call our field a stadium...compared to Tuscaloosa...it's a field."

its actually gotten a lil easier as of last nite too with Michigan getting knocked out and Danielle Lawrie from Washington giving up home runs left and right. But along with the change in Kelsi from last year to this year prolly the biggest change has been the way that Charlotte Morgan has stepped up as a vocal leader for this team. That and the fact that i am surprised if Kayla Braud ever gets out during a game

Terry, I had no idea Ro was with Kelsi. Now that I think about it I thought I saw her in that video they showed of Ro when he was drafted.

Regardless, it's looking good for us I think. I think this is our year, just wished I could have found a way to watch more games than I was able to.

Bama ladies up 7-0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Amanda Locke just hit a 3 run shot for her second homerun in the game!!!

If it stands, Bama should take game 1 of the doubleheader vs Hawaii.

After entering the tourney with the #7 seed, Bama is definitely the hottest team in right now. If tthey can get through today, they'll enter the finals undefeated. It would be nice to take the SEC championship in football, baseball and softball.

Ladies take game one in 5 innings, 8-0. Very nice to get a short game and give Kelsi a chance to rest. Game 2 upcoming in part of the double header.

Would be nice to come out on top with only 10 innings played today!

Edit: Well, doesn't look like Game 2 is gonna go that way.

Ladies dropped the second game 8-7. Battled back ferociously, but couldn't pull it out in the end. Will play tomorrow at 12:00. I expect to see Dunn back on the mound, and closer results to game 1. Should be a good one.

The guys also put UF out of the tournament today with a 5-2 victory in Hoover. They face LSU tomorrow with a game time at 1:03pm central time. I believe this will be the first time a #7 seed will play a #8 seed for the championship.

I have a question about the men's game today. Is it still technically double elimination? Will we have to win 2 games to win the tournament?

I've looked and I can't find the answer. Both UA and LSU are undefeated right now, so if that's the case, it could take as many as 3 games to decide the championship. Because of that, I believe it's a one game deal.

It is a winner take all format today for the baseball team. I believe in the mid 90s you did have to win two on the final day but coaches and ADs got together and changed the format. It was a little too taxing on ones pitching staff and caused problems the following week. Wells used to be a master of it though. He would start a guy that didn't have 7-8 innings to his credit all year and he would get 7-8 innings out of him in the tourney and save his weekend starters until the semi's and finals.

Ladies lose 5-4 to Hawaii with a walk off homer off the foul poll. Officially out of it. :frown:

Guys down 3-2 to LSU in the bottom of the 8th. Hopefully, they can pull it out.

It wasnt off the foul pole, it was bomb that went well over the inside of the foul pole. The guys have since tied it up headed to the bottom of 9th, but are under another rain/lightning delay.
