Bo Nix is no longer the only player on Auburn’s roster with starting experience as an SEC quarterback.


Former LSU quarterback TJ Finley committed to the Tigers Monday, choosing Auburn over the other three schools he announced as finalists — Penn State, Houston and Alabama.

But Nix consistently bailed from the pocket after one read and tried to make plays with his legs -- even if he wasn't under any pressure. That wasn't a huge deal for Malzahn since the former Auburn coach prefers his quarterbacks to be more than just "willing" runners. That won't fly with Bobo and Harsin -- both of whom want their quarterbacks to go through multiple reads and understand what is a much more passer-friendly playbook.

I believe you're on the right track for what they're going to do on offense. I think you're off when it comes to displacing Nix.

It’s also been a bad alumni situation for a few years. Start TJ and bench Nix would exacerbate that problem as well. So, here’s hoping that’s just what they do.

it’s a win-win for Bama fans, the way I see it. Pix continues to start and the team will continue to suck. TJ comes in and gets the nod and the team continues to suck and then ramps up the in-fighting. What could go right?!
