šŸˆ TJ Finely transferring from LSU to Auburn

ā€œAlabama is coming at me hard,ā€ Finley said. ā€œPenn State and Florida are, too, and Ole Miss is still in the picture as well. Those are just some of the ones off the top of my head. Everyone is giving me the opportunity to compete.ā€

With so many SEC schools involved, Finley doesn’t plan to make a decision until the conference rules on intraconference transfers.

ā€œThe only thing that is holding me back is the SEC-to-SEC transfer rule,ā€ Finley said. ā€œI think they will make a ruling on it June 3, so I’m waiting to see if that gets passed. Once that gets passed, I will be able to make my decision about what I want to do.ā€

I don't know if I believe this. He may be making this up. Why would he come to Bama where Bryce Young is clearly the anticipated starter? Does he really think he can unseat Young? From Bama's viewpoint I can see it because it's all about adding depth. But he has to know he's not going to get a real chance to start. Saban always goes with the guy who's been in the system and knows the playbook and is someone he can trust.

Maybe Saban is trying to push Young a little more. Iron sharpens Iron, and we know Saban is all about getting the absolute best out of his players, coaches, recruiting staff, secretary, wife, kids, grand kids. Homey don't play!!

Why? Injuries. He may only be a play away from taking over the offense. I guarantee you that when opposing players tackle an Alabama QB, they put a little more umph into it (both the hit and the landing).

He's a big ole boy at 6'7.

Speaking of that, I was browsing YouTube the other day and watched us running through the tunnels at the 2012 BCS Championship against Notre Dame, and I just held my breath when I saw just how big our guys looked from the camera view. I mean, we looked absolutely massive, like in Rudy when all them boys look five times bigger than him.

He might know he will get a helluva lot better QB coaching at Bama than at LSU. And his 7x the entire Bama QB room's CFB passes would probably put him at #2 on the depth chart. Which is a lot better than being #3 at LSU. He would be just one play away from being THE QB at Bama.

JMO but trying to manage the QB position in the day of if you don't start then you leave is going to be very difficult and that includes Nick Saban and Bama. The injury situation could make a outstanding football team average in a hurry. Having to sit out a year probably keep some QB's from leaving but not anymore. You could see the freshmen QB come in early(spring drills) to complete with your starter and then have him leave before the season actually starts.

I can see CNS looking for someone with some SEC experience, even though mixed, to push and back up BY should he struggle. You have to remember that the their is literally no experience behind BY with Milroe and Tyson.

TBH if you think you're a stud and believed in your abilities, and watched Bryce on A-Day, would you really think that job is unattainable?

There are recent stories of QB's transferring into high profile schools with highly touted QB's and coming out as top draft picks. I would applaud him for wanting to come to UA... Whether or not UA is seriously interested would give an indication to how they see the position as well.

IF you're making a judgment on the QB room based on what was seen on A-day?

IF that's the case we've got a kid who clearly can't see "the field."

What else is he supposed to go on?

If UA is indeed recruiting him, obviously they also believe he can play as well.

I'm with you in terms of I don't see this ultimately happening - But if he indeed has a committable offer, then that speaks for itself.
