🏈 TideSports.com is running an interesting poll

I voted for Namath and Stabler as well. It all depends on what you are looking for. Bart Starr was not noteworthy as an Alabama qb, as he played in the dreadful Whitworth era. He made his legend with the Packers. Trammell was as tough a football player as has ever played at Alabama, a leader in all the best senses of the word. His QB skills, however, weren't close to Namath, Stabler and some of the more recent guys. Namath and Stabler had a good bit in common. They were both extraordinary athletes, bad boys at times off the field, but on the field they both commanded the respect of their teammates. In both cases teammates felt that if the game was on the line late and we were trailing, Joe Willie/Snake would find a way to win. Each was absolute boss in the huddle, this in an era where most of the plays were called in the huddle by the QB.

He is not on the list, but for huddle leadership, inspiring the confidence of his team and bringing them down the field late, Mike Shula was awfully good.
