On the show this week is Wayne Atcheson, Associate Director/Tide Pride (from 1989-2002) Tide Pride is the most successful football donor program in America. It generated 16 million dollars annually for the athletic program through 42,000 football seats and 11,000 members.
Additionally, Wayne took part in founding the U of A Fellowship of Christian Athletes with eight other student/athletes, which still meets weekly after 42 years
As Sports Information Director (1964-66), Wayne covered all sports under Charley Thornton, former Associate Athletic Director. Alabama won the national championship in football both seasons he served in 1964-65. Key players were Joe Namath, Steve Sloan, and Ray Perkins.
