🏈 Tide&OSU older games memorabilia

Always enjoy these

You have an excellent collection of memorabilia and memories

I love the new age and the current success but the old days remind me of when it was all new to a wide eyed kid and coaches and players were 10 foot tall superheroes
Little bit here...little bit there...after so many years.... piles up...
House is full...everywhere you look....
N thanks

The '78 Sugar Bowl is the only game between the two that had more than a one score difference in the final result. All the more reason that the '77 team should have been NC. Hell, even Furman Bisher wrote that anybody that beat tOSU like that should be NC! They had lost to Oklahoma (10-2) 28-29 and at Michigan (10-2) 6-14.

I was working in DC in '86 and drove up to see that Kick-off classic at the Meadowlands. I thought at the time that Ohio State fans seemed to be the friendliest opposing fans I'd ever met. They were all so nice and gracious even after the game - they were like "great game!". Very classy bunch.

That was almost 35 years ago. Not many fan bases seem to behave that way any more.

Contrast that to 14 years later in the 2000 Orange Bowl - drunken Michigan fans shouting obscenities in front of my kids and me almost getting into it with them. LOL. My kids still give me grief about that. I still think Ohio State fans are much classier than Michigan fans. At least in my experience.

Generally. When opposing fans have history in the game. They respect others with equal history

the trip to Oklahoma was unbelievable because of fans. Genuinely respectful

as opposed to going to Neyland

Hawaii was best. Couldnt get away from everyone wanting to talk. Wasnt equal on football plain but they couldn't get over Bama fans. How many. How they acted.

I was at that Hawaii game in Tuscaloosa in 2006. Jim Neighbors either sang the anthem or halftime or maybe both. And the pregame warmups with all the war paint and dancing and whatnot. We had decent seats at around the 40 yard line and they were right in front of us. Pretty cool.

Agreed though. Good fans who seemed happy to be there and genuinely curious about the Bama football mystique.

Nabors sang National Anthem at the second Hawaii game in Hawaii

also?

I know he sang at the one in Tuscaloosa too since that's the only Hawaii game I've been to. The kids had no idea who he was. I remember it was kind of a homecoming of sorts for him - since he lived on the Big Island.

Wife and I got married on Maui and we've been back several times. But never been to a game there.

Was at one in Ttown. Just didn't remember that.
