Alabama and Pittsburgh remain the two schools out in front for Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley five-star receiver Robert Foster , his head coach Mark Lyons confirmed on Monday.

Both the Crimson Tide and Panthers programs recently visited Foster's school and attended one of his games.

Alabama assistant coach Mike Groh was up this past Friday, and Pittsburgh head coach Paul Chryst and assistant coach Bobby Engram were there the Friday before.

"Coach Groh was up here the whole day," Lyons recapped. "I got to see him. Came down to my room, was with us for pregame and after the game he went and got something to eat with our staff. It was good.

"(Coach Chryst) was on the sideline. We've had a lot of dialogue with those guys being so local. They were on the sideline and we had a chance to talk to them. Obviously with Coach Groh coming up from so far away we spent more time with him. That was our intention. With Pitt we can get in and out of there easily."

Lyons added that he thought Ohio State remained in the picture for Foster's services and that Tennessee is trying to make a late surge with the nation's No. 1 receiver and No. 17 prospect overall according to the 247Composite.

"I know Tennessee last week made a conscience effort as far as Coach (Sal) Sunseri getting him on the phone and trying to get back in the picture for him."
Foster visited Alabama once in the spring and once during the summer. He has been to Pittsburgh a number of times and he's also had a chance to check out Ohio State. Lyons says he does not have an future trips scheduled. Foster is expected to take at least a few of his officials before deciding.

Sounds good. Thanks for sharing. Don't know much about the kid, but he sure as heck sounds good.

It's still kind early, and it sounds like Pitt might be the hometown favorite. What are the chances that he leaves his home state?

Prolly about as good as they were for DGB leaving Missouri honestly.

You never know. It really depends on the kid and what he is looking for. DePreist is from Ohio, Ingram was from Michigan. While being close to home weighs in one's opinion, I think family dynamics will play as much a part. If mom and dad like what the program is selling, then I would say we have as much of a shot as anybody.
