My biggest surprise also fits in disappointment, Clemson. I wanted another shot at Dabo.

Even though they were whupped, I still think the piggies are the biggest surprise in college football. I'll recant if they lose bigly to Ole $i$$. And yes, absolutely, Clemson is the biggest disappointment, although I'm glad to see it.

I think Cincinatti getting over the hump was a pleasant surprise/happiness for a lot of people. Arkansas beating Texas and Texas A&M? Huge surprise.

Biggest disappointment has to be Clemson. All we have heard was about their recruiting, how they were the new kings of recruiting, and how all of those five stars on offense and defense would sustain the program for years to come. Well they aren't dead in the water, but with two losses, out of the Top 25, no offense, and a defense getting hurt up every weekend, it'll be interesting to see how they rebound next season.

Biggest disappointment … no doubt it’s Clemson and quite frankly Dabo needed to be humbled a bit. He had become too cocky for my taste.

Biggest Surprise … Auburn’s Nix isn’t being pushed harder for the Heisman by tigger fans. They don’t usually give up on a player until the halfway point.

I agree with others. Clemson is the biggest disappointment. Even though they won over the weekend, they dropped out of the Top 25.

The biggest surprise is either Arkansas or Michigan. If this was anytime in the last five years, Michigan would have dropped a game or two.

On that line of thinking my biggest surprise is Harbaugh keeping his mouth shut this summer and fall.

Disappointment? That's one I'll have to consider for a few minutes.

Clemson is, for me, the biggest dissapointment. Didn't see that coming.... (also a close second is ....Auburn the fact that they are 4-1 instead of 1 -4)

For me, Clemson on BOTH fronts. I think the surprise being how bad their offense has looked after what DJ did last year filling in for Sunshine. Their OL play sucks ass and and the loss and no replacement for Etienne has been mind-boggling. The disappointment has been for as good as their recruiting has been, the lack of development is shocking.

There were a few things that jumped out at me watching them the first game. Here's the big one.

The next time you watch their game look at their receiving corps with the prototypical X,Y, and Z guys in mind. When you see them you'll basically see the same guy—physically—across the board. They don't have that slot guy this season and frankly it looks to me like a team of Z receivers: all long armed, tall, lanky to a degree, with a little speed. In my opinion there's a reason there are three designations; use three different types of athletes.

I never saw DJ as a running threat like Watson but assumed he had the arm talent to balance that out. Then, when I see what he's working with (receivers mentioned) in the backfield I see another blemish.

Putting all of it together the talent isn't there. In retrospect, not much of a shock when I looked more deeply at their roster.

Agree 100%. He is scared to hire really good coordinators because he is afraid to have someone who might be better than him under him.

For the last 3 years all folks RAVED about were Clemson having 4 NFL 1st round draft pick gazelle WRs - Ross, Ladson, Ngata, EJ Williams, Ajou. All 6'3" or taller, big guys.

As it turns out, you are absolutely correct. No Ray Ray McCloud, no Amari Rodgers, and they are struggling. Not having a Trevor or Deshawn is also noticeable, 5* QB or not.

A lot of things seen this season make a lot of sense when you consider and contemplate @NickelDoubleDog

IE: Saban mentioning the crowd noise in Gainesville. I thought, "yeah, that's going to have it impact on any offense much less one that's as young."

Then I considered that, "young." A lot of these guys we're seeing this season haven't been under the spotlight, in stadiums with the fans, and the pressures that come with being there. That applies not only to Bama but to guys like CJ Stroud as well. At QB alone a team would need a starter in his third year to be accustomed to crowds; by themselves.
