Hard to say here...Apples to Oranges IMO...the India deal they were exposed to poisonous gas that killed immediately...vinyl chloride exposure is a carcinogen that causes cancer and kills over time. Neither one ends well regardless.
No, the long term impact in India was to over a half million, it had a longer term impact as well. Vinyl Chloride evaporates and breaks down quickly into other components. It's not a forever chemical. None of this is good, but it's not on the same scale as Bhopal - but, don't let that slow down the twitter crowd.
Over the last couple of days I've heard this at least a dozen times; "The mayor is ill equipped to handle this tragedy." At the same time a lot of these same people are pointing to Mayor Pete and demanding action.
