To me it was little irritating hearing RD's voice for such long period.
I love Verne's voice and despite his fumbles find it easy to hear.. I know he is on CBS.
At the same time I thought College Football Final (despite Joe T. ) format sucked now. Loved it with RD.
I love hearing Joe T. voice but was surprised to not take a liking to the new college football final.

Agreed that Galloway freaking blows. Joe Tess is great. Galloway didn'the even have us in his Top 6. The guy is simply an idiot and was obviously greased through the program at Ohio State. Reece is always a pleasure to hear and watch.

Two things I think are important to remember.

1) There were no concussion protocols when Kannell and Galloway were playing.
2) It's pretty clear the on-air talent on these shows have declined. But, let's remember, Disney forced ESPN to cut their on-air talent salary numbers by what ... 200 million plus, per year?

This, they've been cutting expenses big time. Cord cutters are making a significant dent in their bottom line. They're cutting this year and deeper through 2017.

There are a few big tv contracts that are coming up, NBA and then the Big Ten. How they handle this will help tell the story.

These 2 clowns do offer empirical evidence of the damage repeated blows to the head can cause. A few more years and all Joey will be able to do is mumble "beegten" as he sips his ensure and Kannell will just sit in a dark room with a Jimbo bobblehead and a bottle of lotion.

I did not watch CFF at all.
Reminiscing a bit here ...

Think back to the mid 90's. Sportscenter was in its prime. I used to turn to ESPN in the AM, and leave it on for two, three hours. Now, I wouldn't watch the show continuously ... just continue working/studying/ whatever and glance at this report or that one. Call it background noise.

CFF, to me, is the same in terms of viewing habits. I'll have the show on a few times Sunday morning but it's background noise. I'll watch a bit here, a little there, but by the time 9-10AM comes along I've pretty much seen the entire show.

As I've said before, the commentary doesn't bother me. It's their opinions. I do realize how off some of it is but those comments are ones I "file away."

College Gamday with Reece will be fine. They couldn't have found a better replacement for Chris Fowler.

Question...is the word on the street that Fowler was forced out or did he want to leave CGD?

College Football Final was horrible. What made Final fun was the back and forth between May, Holtz and Reece trying to referee.
And while I like Joe Tess, I can't stand Galloway. Those ratings will plunge and I've already taken it off my DVR list.

Same with College Football Live. Dari Nokia (sp?) is good but it seems like this show now just plugs in any schmo that is available (which is usually Kanell and Galloway) and it's lost it's appeal to me.

What happened with Trevor Matich, Jessie Palmer and Robert Smith? Were they chopped in the salary cuts? They were BY FAR better than the jokers they rotate on there now (especially Kannell and Galloway).

CFB Final used to be a tradition for my family and I to watch on Sunday morning with Holtz and May going at it. It was funny, they had great chemistry, provided insightful details about the game, and provided great highlights along with good commentary. Now its completely ruined because Rece is no longer there to do the judge thing, Holtz retired, and there's no Mark May.

I'm so tired of analyst like Kanell who are only there to rile up the CFB fanatics. Get back to talking real college football.

College Gameday was good with Rece, but man, its time for Lee Corso to go. I feel like he's just dead air. I love Corso's head gear just as much as anyone, but he's losing it up there. I know that might not be a favorable opinion to most, but to me, it just hurts the set when Kirk gets rolling when he's analyzing something and Corso comes in an interrupts him.

I've pretty much stopped watching ESPN's pregame, halftime and post game college football shows. ESPN's on air talent has taken a massive hit over the last few years. They fact the give Galloway and Kanell a paycheck is evidence of that. I'm not going to sit and watch stupidity.

Dang dude, you made my PTSD kick in on that one... considering the Dubose & Shula Era's..

I enjoyed Rece on College Gameday. I like that program, but I can't sit for 3 hours (or 2 or whatever) and watch. As for college football final... that show is dead to me. I watched a little while and turned to Andy Griffith reruns. Joey Galloway is a joke. (So is Danny K ! )
One program I can stomach is the College Football Sunday (or something like that), they do a decent job and don't seem to be too bad.

I couldn't stand CFF and quite honestly I'll be shocked if it continues with that crew, it was extremely boring. There is a difference between insightful commentary and just blatant flaming of teams to acquire more viewers.
