the whole season in one game....a shining example of what happens when you fail to play for 4 quarters. Saban has preached it since day one. The staff had the gameplan to win and we lost as a result of inattention to basics and the inability to score in the redzone. Trent was nowhere near 100%...IMO Lacey should have played. CJ Mosely is our future defensive superstar. Our defense gave up some big plays but they played their azz off and did their job.....our offense lost this game. Our defense next year should be an absolute terror....our O-line should be more improved also. QB play will be critical....obviously.

Anyone else as ticked off as me about that debacle? Talk about sitting on a lead for 3 quarters... Is there a bigger bunch of overrated underachievers in football this decade? I can't remember any with this much talent and offensive experience. No disputing Auburn is the best team in the state and Cam the best in football. He was clutch while our offensive stars played grab-azzzz!

I suppose one has to just accept everything in this post to be accepted on this board. The points are all true and non-critical.

On this board if you criticize coaching decisions, you are called an armchair quarterback and told that you think you can coach better than the man who makes five million dollars a year. You are taunted for not making five million dollars a year coaching. You are told to be quiet because the coaches are better than the ones you had in the past and this one might leave if you point out his faults. If you say the players gave up, you are roundly criticized for pointing out said indiscretions. When you point out mistakes by officials you are accused of sour grapes. The only pass you get is to criticize the fans who watch the game, pay the salaries, buy the gear and go to the games. It is your own fault because your team did not win. You are told to support the team when everyone where you work yucks it up because your team lost, even though you had nothing to do with it really and according to this board it is no one's fault when Bama loses.

So, look to next year. It is no one's fault really that Bama lost. They won it all in 2009 and we should be oh-so-happy. The score today was just less than the other team and our players who are more talented than other teams' players did great. Everyone did great except the fans. Whatever you do, don't criticize anyone who had a direct outcome on the final result.

That is all.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Give me a call when you win a national championship. Meanwhile, I'll settle myself in a nice little place called reality while you whine about everything from the gameplan to what Nick Saban eats in the morning. Remember, if we lose someone HAS to be blamed. It's never because teams simply have down years and that this stuff understandably happens from time to time.

There are plenty of Bama forums out there full of posters who are fighting suicide tonight because we *gasp* only won 9 games. You have not been moderated at any point, and while you are fully welcomed (and appreciated), no one makes you log into this Bama forum and share your thoughts. Personally, I enjoy having a Bama forum where people have realistic expectations and understand that sometimes, we aren't always the best team.

Our redzone woes cost us this game. Our offensive line getting whipped all year cost us a few games. It's not the end of the world. We have, what? 9 seniors on this team? We'll bounce back from this loss, we'll likely win our bowl game making 3 straight 10 win seasons and we'll be in the National Championship talk again next season.

Roll Tide!!

I guess I didn't remember our 2000 team returning all offensive starters from a national championship team, returning a heisman running back and 3 pre-season all-Americans on defense. And did anyone pick Texas as a NC contender this year?

Are you serious?

The 2000 Bama team was ranked #3 entering the season. They won 3 games. Texas has recruited just as much talent over the last 3 years as Bama has. They may actually have more talent than Bama does. And they are finished for the season at 5-7. Both of those teams greatly underachieved. Much more so than this 9-3 Bama team did.

Some of you people either need to get a grip or buy some Boise State crap. We aren't always going to go undefeated. We aren't going to win a SEC/BCS championship every season.

And yes. Texas was ranked #4 to start this season. To most, that's considered a NC contender.

Since every point today Auburn scored was with a ineligible player, didnt we win?

Well, I dont know if wed be alabama fans if we claimed that.

Ive decided that we lost today, but I am refusing to acknowledge their wins, or the fact that they had a football program this year.

So I am ignoring their season. Though I may watch south carolina play some people in the SECCG.

we have a young team.. we were in a position to win every game this year.. i am proud if this bama team.. a few plays give or take and we would be sitting with 0 losses.. there were some great things to be proud of.. i expect next year to be unbelievable..

Dareus said in his interview that it takes maturity to play all four quarters w/ consistency.

This IS the issue of this team right now -->lack of maturity. It is the common denominator for all wins & loses. This team has only 9 seniors on it (compared to AU's 21 of which 4 are on the O'line). This happens when we have so many talents leaving for the draft early & when you have so many who started for years. Also, losing does produce character that leads to maturity that plays for ALL four quarters.

I have been trying to put my finger on this issue all season long & I passed on this point earlier in the season b/c it was too cliche. BUT Dareus is right.

You're right, Texas has recruited good, but they lost a ton of talent on both sides of the ball with probably 90% of their offense leaving and an unproven QB comingin so they were a crap shoot to say the least. And most thought our 2000 team would be good but not win a NC. That was unrealistic. They did greatly u derachieve however, like you say, but that was a different decade, too... :)

Point is, we are huge underachievers this year. That's a fact that can't be argued by anyone. Returning Heisman, supposedly 2 of best RBs in nation, entire offense back, almost, and 3 all-American preseason guys on D. Losing 3 in one year with all that is considered underachieving in the part of the state I grew up in. But I've calmed down a little now. With it being the 3rd loss of the season it doesn't burn as long as the 1st loss.

Who said anything about a 3-9 year? Who gives a crap about supporting a coach? What does that have to do with class?

You are why people think if you live in the south, you are stupid.
