🏈 The Van de Graaff Projected Offensive starters for Bama 2025

QB- Will Ty Simpson finally get his shot? Who am I kidding, it's his to lose. Question is who the back-up will be....
Austin Mack or Keelon Russell. I think Mack has the edge but no denying the athletic ability of Russell.

RB- Jam-Jam Miller
Back-ups-
Richard Young (Redshirt Sophomore), Dre'lyn Washington (Redshirt Senior), Daniel Hill (Sophomore), Kevin Riley (Redshirt Freshman), Akylin Dear (Freshman)
Key note, watch out for Kevin Riley.

WR- Starters- Ryan Williams (Sophomore), Germie Bernard (Senior), Isaiah Horton (Redshirt Junior)

Back ups- Jalen Hale (Redshirt Sophomore), Cole Adams (Redshirt Sophomore), Rico Scott (Redshirt Freshman), Bubba Hampton (Redshirt Freshman), Derek Meadows (Freshman), Lotzeir Brooks (Freshman)

Jalen Hale could easily be in the starter group but Brandon Van de Graff Changed my mind.

TE-Starter- Josh Cuevas (Redshirt Senior) I think this guy will shine. Danny Lewis Jr. (Redshirt Junior),

Jay Lindsey (Redshirt Freshman), Kaleb Edwards (Freshman), Marshall Pritchett (Freshman), Peter Knudson (Graduate Student)

OL- Starters : LT Kadyn Proctor (Junior), LG Michael Carroll (Freshman), C Parker Brailsford (Redshirt Junior), RG Jaeden Roberts (Redshirt Senior), RT Wilkin Formby (Redshirt Sophomore) ***Kam Dewberry or Geno VanDeMark could also start at LG. I am giving the edge to Carroll cause thats how I roll.

Back-ups: Kam Dewberry (Senior), Roq Montgomery (Redshirt Sophomore), Arkel Anugwom (Redshirt Sophomore), Olaus Alinen (Redshirt Sophomore), Joseph Ionata (Redshirt Freshman), William Sanders (Redshirt Freshman), Casey Poe (Redshirt Freshman), Michael Carroll (Freshman), Ty Haywood (Freshman), Jackson Lloyd (Freshman), Micah DeBose (Freshman), Mal Waldrep (Freshman)

Feel free to add what you think or analyze this with Terry P glasses and confuse me.

My Projected Defense Later.

Kirk Van de Graff does not nor ever thinks he knows or has a crystal ball in his pocket to give these assumptions. I just guess and research.

Rb: we know Miller is starting but who will be the running back to rotate with Miller? I think we use three Rbs this year. You said watch out for Kevin Riley. I say watch out for Hill.

WR: you got it. But the fourth and fifth receiver? Cole Adam and Rico Scott. Freshmen will see playing time this fall. I wouldn't be shocked to see Kevin Ridley or hill lining up as wr at times.

Te: the issue is their blocking .... So we'll see who does well.

OL: I think the OL is right but let's see what happens in fall camp.

This offense is capable of running five same plays and still have ten different options in that five plays with different personnel.

Good call on Hill

I wouldn't have put this out there if Saban was still coach. Ha

Saban would have mentioned him in one of his pressers during camp. The kid can break tackles; maybe better than anyone else in the group.

RB's: I've talked about Jam and his speed since he came on our radar. I haven't seen the footwork out of Young I'd like to see: where's the old fashioned "juke" every once in awhile?

Personally, I see it as

1) Miller
2a/b) Hill Young
3) Riley
4) Washington

I think Dear will 'shirt.

I don't.

Carroll spent a lot of his time in spring camp working at right tackle. He may eventually move to guard. We can call "NewBerry" the starting left guard coming out of spring with the ole' '#1 A/B' and VanDeMark.

Longer term look: I lean towards Alinen taking over the LG position before Carroll. That's next spring. 🙃

WR- Starters- Ryan Williams (Sophomore), Germie Bernard (Senior), Isaiah Horton (Redshirt Junior)

No doubt on the starters.

A LOT of doubt on how the 2's shake out. What do you think the most used word was with the WR corps this spring? I'd guess it would be "flashes." With one breath you would have seen Rico snag one and before you exhaled he'd drop one in his hands. I can see him as a the first guy off the bench (#4) and I can see him in the portal.

Hale. Dude. That was a BAD knee injury. I know he missed all season and I hope he's "back in the game" this fall. Everything I heard out of fall camp was positive; several mentioned they didn't feel he was 100 percent.

Adams is his brother from other mother: farther along on the road to getting healthy.

I want them to play Meadows and give him two words, "Go Route."

Brooks had a good spring. The kid was a phenom in the high school ranks. NE kid; NJ, maybe? Scat-back type out of the slot? That's my guess: he's quick, and he's small.

I don't expect much of anything from Hampton: missed spring due to injury.

Dewberry is weighing in around 345
VanDeMark around 325
Carroll at 315

I went with Carroll because of possibly being able to get out of his stance quicker while maintaining strength. No inside info just pure speculation.

@Kirk Van de Graaff

While I believe we have a good idea of what we're going to see with Coach Kap there's a bit of an unknown with Grubb and his influence here. He's got a bit of OL coaching experience as well. I think it's a good thing that leaves me a bit hesitant on what we'll see. No worries, just curious about the unknown.

I’m surprised to hear Meadows has that type of speed. That’s a big dude with some speed if that’s the case.
"He can fly." I had a few people say that after watching him. Here's the thing with me.

Fall is going to tell us a lot. I mentioned Rico. I think he'll be part of the rotation but if he's as inconsistent as he was in the spring he could find himself on the bench, then the portal. With Meadows, I'm not thinking "play or portal." I'd say, today, a fifty-fifth shot at 'shirting depending on how the others come around (seniority.)

This has been the mantra about Russell through out spring. Just guessing, but I bet he is the #2 QB before the season is over. I bet he will be like AJ was during his RS year. Has all the tools, just needs a better grasp/knowledge of the offense and catch up to the speed of the game.
