šŸˆ The State of Sewell-Thomas Stadium...

Went to the game today. It is a shame the number of people that are there. It all comes down to.. put a product on the field that people want to watch and they will come. You go by the softball field and it is packed......why?????? because ,they are a quality team. If our baseball coach. Mitch doesn't do something this year he has got to go.....The women's basketball team is a joke and has been for several year. These is no reason, with what Bama has to offer that it should be this way/ I LOVE Bama weather it is football or tiddly winks. We should be competitive in ALL sports. Ok, that is my rant of the year....go back to what you were watching.

I don't think it's a product on the field thing. If the fan experience sucks then no matter the product on the field people aren't going to show up.

The baseball stadium has needed to be rebuilt for many years and unfortunately it has been ignored for a long time. I don't think a renovation is the answer I think The Joe needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Woman's basketball is a joke and has been for a long time, but that's a different subject for a different time.

Saw this:

In 2012, softball received private contributions of $146,929. Baseball's donations totaled a dismal $15,658.

Sewell-Thomas used to be a good baseball stadium. Now that I've read this, we do need a good renovation. Something that will draw the students and fans so they can provide an atmosphere recruits would want to play under. I've been to Cameron Box and South Carolina's stadium. Hell I've been to Clemson's stadium and they put us to shame.

Hope Bill Battle's can get this done and give us something that will draw big crowds.

I will say, for some, it is all about the product on the field... for others it isn't. I have some friends in Tuscaloosa who don't want to go watch a "bad team" in whatever the sport (baseball, basketball, etc.). Me personally, I'd like to go see any game whenever possible. Being close to UA for sports in the main reason I continued to live here after graduation...

Same here. I'd go to every game if I could though. Need too see if I can move over to Tampa, paying almost 50% tax over here :dejection:

Haha, I can't imagine it. I love visiting CA, but I can't imagine having to live there unless I had money trees on my property. My brother lives out there and pretty much takes a bicycle anywhere and everywhere he can to save money.

Pretty fun, but not as great as you'd think. Knew a guy who was a software engineer who was making 4 million dollars a year...Moved to Texas because he was paying 2 million dollars in tax (and also because Texas doesn't have a state tax)
