🏈 The Plot Thickens for Tennessee Recruiting

Kiffin will have UT in big time trouble before it is all said and done. That ask for forgiveness rather than asking for permission is good for a junior high kid but it won't cut it in big time football. I guess he has learned all the "tricks" of the trade from Carroll at USC.

I think this is a fine example why a 33 year old man isn't cut out for an NFL job, or a bigtime college football job. The fishbowl is too small, and all the other fish are very hungry. Everyone on the outside can see everything going on inside. You can't get away with the stuff he's pulling. I expect UT will skirt on this issue, no pun intended, but will receive a reprimand from the SEC office, maybe 5 schollys from the NCAA.

He's one more strike away I believe, and I think he'll get it before 2010 is out.

And it doesn't help matters when you try to poke all of the big fish in the eye the second that you're dropped into the bowl.

What are the UT faithful saying about this? Do they care? Are they nervous or are they acting like earlier and saying it's a good thing?

I haven't checked as of today, but last week they were trying to stay calm and say this will all stay secondary and that it won't amount to much. I'm sure they may have changed by now because the soup keeps getting thicker day by day.

The UT fans around here say that it is a mole hill and will all go away quickly. They also think that it is caused by jealousy from the other SEC coaches (namely Bama and Florida).

I am afraid that they are going to be quite shocked at the long term outcome of this. I read a little while ago that James' father stated that his son was not totally committed to Tennessee. Even if nothing comes out of this sanction-wise, you know this has to hurt at the beginning of the recruiting 'dead period' with all of the headlines flying.

We are missing that one thing, one last nail in the coffin, and then their program is in more crap than Alabama has ever had to deal with Imo. If they get a major violation uncovered, their program is done for the next decade.

I wonder if there is any precedent for a coach or athletic program tallying enough secondary violations to warrant a LOIC violation? I mean, can't a bunch of intentional secondary violations add up to show a blatant lack of control, or at least an intent to violate ncaa rules, without stepping over the line?

Seems like if it keeps happening and UT won't clean up, ie, send Hello Kiffin packing, the NCAA or SEC should reprimand the hell out of them.

The reason I'm so hell bent on destroying UT is that they still contend that Bama has, was, and is cheating to win. They won't let the Means affair go, and they believe that we got what we deserved.

I honestly cannot remember if we were hit with LOIC or Failure to Monitor, but the severity of the textbook case was made by combining all the individual secondary violations into one single major infraction.

And Commissioner Slive has mentioned publically that a program that intentionally and continually and repeatedly commits similar secondary violations then the total will be considered and processed as major.
