🏈 The "other" game tonight...

While USC's Barkley is the new ESPN media darling and is being hailed as the second coming of Joe Montana, this guy telegraphs EVERY pass he throws. He absolutely locks onto his #1 receiver each play. Ohio State should be able to make some very effective defensive adjustments for the second half and shut him down. I normally don't pull for the Big Ten, but for tonight it would be nice to see the Buckeyes take down the Trojans.

i'll say this, he is a true freshmen so he should catch some breaks for locking onto WR's. this guy just drove USC down the field with the assistance of a damn fine RB from the state of Louisiana. He deserves a little accolades.

Ohio State is now 0-6 versus top 5 teams.

If you're referring to McKnight (LA RB), no offense, but my mother probably could have made that pass that sprung the drive. McKnight was covered out of the backfield by a slower than molasses LBer instead of being shadowed by a faster safety. Really poor scheming by OSU on that final drive. That play was 3rd and long from about the 2 or 3. If OSU had properly covered - game over. No superhero QB this week. In addition, all game long, rather than bring the house on the Freshman for passing plays, they simply rush four and let the line apply pressure for fear of getting torched. OSU didn't play to win, they played not to lose and made a true Freshman look like a seasoned vet in the process.

Had OSU schemed better for the game and pressured the young guy or even if they just shadowed McKnight on the final drive. We would have moved up to #3. Now we have to hope that Oregon (doubtful) or Cal (decent chance) beats them. Because as a certified media darling, USC won't budge from that spot no matter how highly ranked any of our opponents might be (assuming we beat them) and THAT is ultimately the problem with overwrought media-love annointment of players and teams - it taints voting.

BTW - let's remember, the superhero wonderkid has played a total of two games and one of them was San Jose State. His annointment as the second coming of (insert name here), I think is a bit premature.

a USC loss puts Bama at #3. Good enough reason to go for OSU.

Rankings do not matter right now. As long as we keep winning and beat Florida in the SEC Championship game we will get to the NCG. I'm Glad USC won, it means there is hope that we might get to be their DADDY.

of course ranking don't actually matter right now, but they provide such a great source for discussion and arguing. Ultimately our future is in our own hands as with USC, Florida and Texas. This will be another great season of college football.
