I may catch my share of flak for this but here it goes....Basically my opinion is everyone looked pretty good.....about what to expect from a scrimmage game. But the one player that I saw playing his guts out was Sunseri....that kid is a football player. I dunno where they will put him but they need to find a place for him.

They were talking that Sunseri was too short to play LB....I remember alot of talk similar to that with Sam Mills. Maybe he just doesnt have the size for this system......I dunno...Im sure the staff obviously knows whats best but that kid is a hitter and he is going to be a head hunter on special teams.

Coach Saban's quote from just over a week and a half ago.

RE: The move to S for Vinnie..."we already know he can play linebacker."

He's almost like a Rudy to me, Sunseri will never be the best athlete on the field but with enough football knowledge and will, he'll be great with us... dyou see that hit on the sideline????

comparing him to Rudy is a failure in my opinion. The two are nothing alike.

to me, you are taking away from Sunseri by comparing him to Rudy...just saying.

That being said, I hate Notre Dame.

Come on, Plano, work with me here, how bout Tyler Hansbrough? Basketball, sure, but the kid was never the best athlete but he worked his butt off and he dominated b/c of it, is that a better analogy??

Using a more tough standard, I asked myself to identify those players who I thought could put the team on their shoulders and carry them to a Championship. Obviously TR comes to mind, but it drops off quickly after that. This left me thinking of this more as a Team-Team vice a Team with a few studs. Team-Teams need quality across the board, every position, and several layers deep. I see us as close to that.

Sadly, QB is the weak point there. Not because of a lack of potential or talent, but a lack of experience. I think our schedule is somewhat forgiving in the beginning, hopefully affording one of the guys to become that SEC QB...but the work "hopefully" is still in there.

Vinnie continues to impress me (saw him in person at the All-Star game in St. Petersburg), and I am excited about them finding a way to get him on the field. I love our LB corp, and am ready to have my socks blown off by our DBs. If the OL gets it right, I think we have a real shot at it all. LT is crucial because I don't want to see Barret moved outside. I remember Drake Nevis of LSU giving us fits in the middle and I dont want that again for our rookie QBs.

I thought Sunseri, DePriest and Menzie all looked very good and ready for action. The one that stood out most to me was Darrington Sentimore. He looks poised for a breakout season IMHO.
