šŸ“” The NCAA is relaxing its marijuana policies and recommends less harsh penalties.

Currently, one failed NCAA test is a half-year suspension. Now, players could continue with multiple failed tests based on factors.

NCAA policy won’t overrule school policy
Can school policy overrule state law? In a private school, for what's kept on campus, I'm sure. (IE: I doubt you can bring a case of beer on campus/in housing at some schools.)

I'm thinking schools will coalesce to individual state law.

The prohibition on pot from a competitive standpoint has always been a joke to me. The only competition that being stoned would be a help with is competitive eating. It falls into the "if you aren't testing the whole student body then testing athletes is garbage" area to me.

In some situations I'd agree, in others it's arguable. I don't see any advantage for someone in a 220m track event. But, standing over a putt on the 18th and combating anxiety?

(There was an article posted here about a year ago about a football player in the league, I want to say it was a former LSU DB, who talked about beta-inhibitors and marijuana use.)

In those instances, you can get prescriptions that are allowed though. So the difference between smoking pot and getting a prescription is still legality. And of course we have the fact that some places allow it medically or non-medically now.

Here it is. He went that route (Zoloft, etc.) and those prescriptions lacked efficacy.

I'm ALL for this to passed (NCAA) and legalized.

Consider: Vicodin versus a bud of Ice Cream Cake. A 15mg Percocet versus a bowl.

But I'm getting off into the weeds here...
