NCAA football covers a lot of ground. Hard to believe a punter in one of the lower divisions has not surpassed that number. Perhaps they meant to say Division 1 football.
Iowa punter is saying "hold my beer". I believe he's up close to 9000 yards in his career with 6 games to go. He's already punted for over 1400 yards this year in 6 games, double the effort and I believe that will put him in the 11k club too.
I believe that was Coach Stallings' last year, or perhaps next to last year. Seven years, won seventy games (I think a few were later rescinded/forfeited).

That sent me looking. Tory Taylor (Iowa) has 1729 yards to date. Didn't realize Burnip was so high in the rankings. He is 6th with 48.04 AVG and Taylor is 7th at 48.03.

Good find, I thought he (Tory) was a little higher than that on total yards.
Edit: That's his total for this year, got it, duh, (momentary brain fart that last a lifetime there ), but yeah, he should blow past the 11k during the rest of the season.
FWIW, Burnip's 29 yard punt at A$M cost him two places in the rankings. An average punt would have put him at 48.87. But then his way above average punt of 63 yards put him on the Injury Report. He out kicked the coverage.

I think the coverage was there on the long punt, their player just made a play. Burnip's killing it this year, hope they don't rush him back because we have more field position games ahead of us.
