🏈 The loss of Cyrus has me thinking ...

about our LT position for next season.

Does Tyler Love finally step up this season to fulfill the promise he had as a 5-star bluechip?

Just how good is the Juco transfer Douglas, and will he be ready to contribute this year?

Can Arie develop into a LT or is he destined to remain at RT?

Can McCullough defend the edge against top-flight pass rushers at only a hair above 6 feet tall?

Regarding Douglas, I off three thoughts.
1) This fall he will be a whole year older/stronger/smarter/experienced than he was when he finished his first season in SEC play at Tennessee - a season that on balance was impressive, as evidenced by his All-Freshman team selection then.

2) Coach Saban and his staff believe that he can answer the call day one. Why else would they have offered him if they did not think he would follow in the JUCO footsteps of Carpenter at OT?

3) He has his second chance and the door just flew wide open. He knows today that he can seize the position for two years IF HE EARNS IT, which is likely a factor in C. K10 heading down the road.

and then there is the growing possibility that Cyrus isn't lost after all .....

Douglas was recruited with the idea that he would play right away, just as Carpenter was. I suppose there is some possibility that we will look at Fluker at LT in the spring.
