...never. Florida is the only other SEC fanbase that respects the field. However, Alabama has been involved in many opposing fans rushing the field.

Have you ever been a part of rushing the field following a college football game?

Though it seems like a regular part of the college football experience, it actually doesn’t happen all that often at SEC schools.

Thanks to @RedditCFB, we have some data on the last time that each SEC school has stormed the field.

Let’s take a closer look at why those days were worth the exuberant, and perhaps excessive, celebration:

Alabama
Fans have never rushed the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide fans stick by the ā€œact like you’ve been there beforeā€ mantra, apparently.

Arkansas
Date: Nov. 15, 2014
Result: 17-0 win against LSU
Reason: Arkansas snapped a 17-game conference losing streak by bludgeoning the Tigers offense at the point of attack, allowing just 123 total yards.

Auburn
Date: Nov. 30, 2013
Result: 34-28 win against Alabama
Reason: Even Alabama fans have to respect the Tigers’ right to celebrate this one on the field with their team.

Florida
Fans have never rushed the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Swamp is hallowed ground to Gators fans, and apparently they respect that enough not to touch it.

Georgia
Date: Oct. 7, 2000
Result: 21-10 win against Tennessee
Reason: Georgia ends a nine-game losing streak to the Volunteers.

Kentucky
Date: Oct. 4, 2014
Result: 45-38 win against South Carolina
Reason: Tied with Ole Miss as the most fan base to rush the field, the Wildcats pushed their record to 4-1 (after winning just four games during previous two seasons).

LSU
Date: Oct. 25, 2014
Result: 10-7 win against Ole Miss
Reason: The Rebels entered the game unbeaten, but thanks to a late defensive stand and an interception of Bo Wallace deep in Tigers territory, LSU was able to get a huge home victory.

Mississippi State
Date: Oct. 23, 2004
Result: 38-31 win against Florida
Reason: Entering the game at 1-5, the Bulldogs pulled off an unlikely upset of the Ron Zook-led Gators.

Missouri
Date: Nov. 28, 2014
Result: 21-14 win against Arkansas
Reason: The Tigers clinched a second consecutive SEC East title by defeating the white-hot Razorbacks, which hadn’t allowed a point in back-to-back shutouts. With the win, Mizzou improved to 14-2 in regular-season SEC games in two seasons.

Ole Miss
Date: Oct. 4, 2014
Result: 23-17 win against Alabama
Reason: Ending a 10-game losing streak to the Crimson Tide, Ole Miss knocked off the No. 3 team in the country to improve to 5-0.

South Carolina
Date: Sept. 29, 2001
Result: 37-36 win against Alabama
Reason: Lou Holtz led the Gamecocks to their first win over Alabama in program history.

Tennessee
Date: Sept. 19, 1998
Result: 20-17 win against Florida
Reason: After failing to get past the Gators in the Peyton Manning era, the Volunteers finally break through in 1998, propelling them to a BCS national championship.

Texas A&M
Date: Nov. 20, 2010
Result: 9-6 win against Nebraska
Reason: Knocking off the No. 8 team in the country, the Aggies extended their conference winning streak to five games and reasserted themselves as a force on the national scene.

Vanderbilt
Date: Nov. 15, 2003
Result: 28-17 win against Kentucky
Reason: A young Jay Cutler helped the Commodores end an embarrassing 23-game SEC losing streak.

I was actually at the Georgia-Tennessee game. I was in high school and ran on the field after about 20,000 others did. I would like to rush it again with about 10,000 Alabama fans on October 3rd just to insult them a little more.

That 1954 team was the tale of two seasons. They slip in the opener to Southern Miss, then reel off four straight impressive wins culminating in a 27-0 shutout of Tennessee. Then the offense goes away, and they scored twice in the last six games. Amazingly, two of their scoreless games were 0-0 ties.

We probably never rushed BDS in the old days because most of the big games were at Legion Field.

Some also state Florida rushed the field before 1990 but they didn't document it in the article because Florida fans believe that was the year college football started.

I can recall some students trying to rush the field at Legion Field following the '90 Iron Bowl after the late Simpson Pepper had repeated throughout the 4th quarter "do not try to enter onto the field!" Needless to say, it didn't end well for those that tried. I saw several get body slammed WWE style.

I think the field was rushed... during a concert in the early '80s. A friend of mine who was a freshman working with a setup crew for a band, felt a presence behind him and turned to find himself face-to-face with Bear Bryant. My friend said, "Oh, hey coach!" (Yeah, my friend was and still is sort of a dolt) Bear replied with his gravely voice in an even and imposing tone , "Get this &*%$ off my gd field."

I was at Neyland when the viles broke their long losing streak against us in 1982. Watched them storm the field and tear down the goal posts. Sat on Cumberland for hours waiting to move my car while they paraded up and down the strip. I can't describe how much I hate orange.
