šŸˆ The Lane Kiffin project has to end. Pronto

Coker played his ass off tonight and he made some good plays to keep us in the game. But he also made some piss-poor pitiful plays too that helped seal our fate. Coker is probably the best we've got if you leave out Barnett. And that's a sad commentary on our QB situation. Coker is not very good. He's serviceable, and that is about all. He's going to have at least one of those INT's a game where he locks in on the primary receiver when he breaks the huddle and never looks off. He also looked confused at times, and he ALWAYS took too much time getting us lined up and getting the play off. You could see Kiffin getting pissed at him because he wanted to go up tempo and Coker just keeps farting around, taking his time. Even in the 4th quarter when we needed to run as many plays as possible, Coker just kept dicking around. Bateman at least ran the offense smoothly. He's a liability because they take anything downfield out of the playbook with him in, but watch his possessions. The offense just operates more smoothly and with better tempo.

We've got some big issues on this team that the staff is trying to disguise: the OL is average. Kelly is the same sorry ass blocker he has been; he makes the right calls and is good in double teams, but one on one he whiffs on more blocks than you can count. Jackson is just shitty at pass blocking. Alphonse Taylor didn't look too good tonight either. Nkemdiche made Taylor and Kelly his bitches tonight. The running game is King Henry and not much else. Drake spells him and is good at what he does, but he doesn't complement Henry well. We've always had at least two backs under Saban that we could ride between the tackles. Not this year. I love the Drake and what he can do, but he's not what we need behind Henry. Bo Scar can't return soon enough. Speaking of the Drake, where are all these plays designed to make him the next Reggie Bush? I haven't seen them yet. Kiffin saving them for La Monroe? The DB's are very talented and play much better. And they still don't look for the damn ball. I'm going to say it. The only constant we've had with the DB's and them not finding the ball is Saban. I think it's time he left the coaching to others because if that's his coaching of the DB's for them not to get their heads around and look for the ball, he's lost it. We have no depth at LB. Dillon Lee should not be playing regularly if that were not the case. Kirby's defense is stale and predictable and not working. Yes, they were put in bad situations time after time tonight. That's part of the job on a night like tonight. Bottom line is, Ole Miss scorched your defense for 43 points. When was the last time we played a good offensive team that didn't torch us? Gus did it, so did Urban. Kirby's been figured out. Maybe it's time for a change. You think maybe being able to kick a field goal instead of going for it on 4th down every time we cross the fifty might have made a difference tonight? This team is pretty good in a lot of areas, but pretty bad in some too. We are going to lose at least once more this year so get ready. We don't have a QB that can bail us out if the other team's front 7 can contain #2. This week is going to suck. Good night.

Really? because Bateman didn't belong in a game like this. He's a timid guy. He ran 10 plays before they even trusted him to make a forward pass.
The coaches ran back to Coker, and I think they owe the guy an apology. It wasn't a good look for our coaching staff to bench Coker, and then run back to him when the game got a little hairy. Unfortunately it was a minute too late.

You're out of your god damn mind if you think Bateman could have led our offense to 37 points tonight! Enough with this bullshit

This guy and Jryan have both rubbed their dicks raw jerking off to Coker.

They wanted a more dual threat look dude. Get your head in the game and understand that. Coker has had a year and a half to get it together, yet they still have their reservations about the guy. What does that say? Bateman made better throws than Coker. Just watch the replay. Coker is just unpredictable. You never know what is going to happen. Without Henry you'd be singing another tune when you see the load and attention taken off Coker.

Dual threat... Doesn't a guy actually need to run in order to be a "threat" to run? Don't know how many people have pointed out Bateman's "athleticism" yet haven't seen a freaking hint of it in 3 games. Whether it's because Bateman is scared or the coaches don't use it, IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. Period.

At least 17 of the Ole Miss points came off of turnovers and mistakes (Ole Miss only had 96 yards through the first 17 points). Another 7 came off a crazy, one in smillion lucky play.

We had a QB with chemistry who played with the 1s. He was not excellent but he was apparently the best of a bad situation. Instead, we benched him and put in another guy. Whoever made this decision, in the face of our biggest game of the season so far, a revenge game even, deserves an ass whoopin cuz they pissed away our first half.

This was our game to lose, and we gave it to them. Gift-wrapped it, even.

Unreliable? We've lost far too many games under him (total of 3 in 17 games)? Your emotional right now. Come back when you know what you're talking about. This game was lost due to turnovers (2 by special teams) and the field position when they occurred. Period.

This.

This will be another game I wonder why we didn't run the ball more late in the game. We were still in the game EVEN with 5 turnovers.

Our fans gave up on the team, the team didn't give up.

Let's face it the Team and the coaches both screwed up. Ole Miss done their homework and Kelly did a very good job as QB. We were not ready from the first play and everything went down hill. Bama is still not out of the NC picture yet and just needs to get it right and play Alabama football on both sides of the ball. I am sure we won't have to worry about the play of Alabama and the coaching moves next game. We will get it right starting with the coaches this week.

And they used a special play with Kelly.

The game plan had to change after we went down 17-3. Alabama had to score points - quickly - to get back in the game.

I agree quite substantially with Killer Instinct. Coker breaks your heart because can make a decent play or a decent run and then does something completely boneheaded (like his 2 INTs). Bateman is no answer right now either. I wonder what the heck really happened with Cornwell. I'm not real confident we can beat excellent teams with Bateman or Coker.

I don't like how Kiffin all too often gets too cute. Last night with Bateman and Coker, we should have been running quick, short drop, tempo, shallow pass plays to build confidence. He is also not getting Drake in space. Of course, our O-Line is terrible. Ryan Kelly gets abused, and as a unit, they don't seem to have any cohesiveness. What happened to our big, mean, powerful O-Lines???? How did it get to this? Yes, we did end up with over 200 yards rushing, but almost 60 yards of that was Coker scrambling and then another 31 on a single Henry run. Take those out and we have just barely over 100 yards. That's pathetic. Even Henry doesn't look overpowering, and how often are our backs taking contact in the backfield? O-Line just ain't what we are used to and I don't know how we fix that one.

I also agree on Smart's D. We STILL can't deal with the HUNH and we are going to keep seeing it. We continue to give up big plays (although with their one TD on the pop play, their O-Lineman was clearly 4-5 yards downfield, but no call of course), and we continue to struggle to get off the field on third down (though last night, 3rd down wasn't too bad). And as so many have said, our DBs are not looking for the ball. It's like the whole D is playing scared - like they are held back somehow. We generated ZERO turnovers. No matter how you slice it, 43 points is 43 points.

Our special teams are horrendous. Fumbling on two returns??? Where is our game-breaking returner? Griffith is terrible - even his made chip shot FG looked shaky. Yes, we executed an on-side kick and that was cool. But overall, STs suck.

Is it time to give Barnett a shot? What about letting Damien Harris have a more prominent role? How do we get our DBs to play the ball? How do we get our defense to play more aggressively? I don't know - just not seeing a whole lot of dominance on this team.

Looked like Coker is the running, mobile quarterback. I've never seen Bateman really take off and run. Maybe he's frightened.

He was definitely timid last night. There was at least two times when the defense crashed down on the running back completely, sold out on the back when Bateman could have pulled it and got at least 20 yards but he never did.

Agree with everything except the "serviceable" part on Coker. Not sure he's reached that yet. He made throws any D1 QB should be able to make. But, Kiffin's play calling didn't help anybody at times last night. He seems to refuse to just line up and play football at times. Too much cute stuff and questionable decisions at critical times (deep ball with 2+ minutes and a TO left using a QB that has proven he can't hit the deep ball?).

How did the Oline get soft? We returned very few starts on the OL this year, like I said before the season. This shouldn't be a surprise.

Why does the secondary suck? We started 3 freshmen.

Come on, admit it. You drank the koolaid and now you're wondering what happened. 2 of the groups you need the most experience to succeed are those 2.

This is the elephant in the room. Our offense has been unreliable since he arrived to T-town. Get me an offensive coordinator that knows how to develop talent and put them in the best position to make plays using their talents. This guy is a fraud. I don't care about numbers. The only number that matters is the final score, and we've lost far too many games under him. This is unacceptable. Kiffin has to go.

We're not winning another championship playing shitty sloppy football. Special teams are trash, we have no quarterbacks on the roster, and the secondary is young and can't turn their heads. This is Saban's fault, not Kiffin's.
Agree, Saban has this team walkin on eggshells. Afraid to make a mistake, and you will. These players are way too tight. They need too loosen up and play with reckless abandon. Fumbles occur when you're getting clocked by your opponent, and the BAMA d is way too soft. Running backs are worried more about fumbling then scoring.
