First the good:
Anymore top recruits you think we'll land?

We got one coming Monday

There's something always nice to hear—a current commit talking to and recruiting kids to join him at UA.

But then there's this:

How do you feel about the Vols now that you're a Bama commit? What was it like to talk to Butch Jones?

He's an awesome guy, I don't know what to feel about Tennessee

It's refreshing to see a kid showing respect towards other coaches that are recruiting him.

However, not knowing what to feel about Tennessee?!?!

Somebody got some learnin' to do.

Q&A with David from the 4th.

Grab your pitchforks and light your torches.

That would be the reaction from...oh, Notre Dame? After all, fits with their culture.

Now, water-boarding? I'd could get behind that idea.

Perhaps someone should tweet him a link to Rocky Top with instructions to listen to the audio file 100X in a three hour span. That certainly would begin the indoctrination.

For punishment for not knowing about how to feel against Tennessee, you suggest water-boarding?

As Charles from Reeltown would say on Finebaum, this boy needs a good ol' country boy ass whoopin.

Well, HELL YEAH!

You ever been drowned in a sea of puke orange?

Tell him to tell Butch Jones, I hope your team loses every game, every year and then you have a down year.

So far, I don't have any issues with Butch Jones. So far, I don't know a lot about Butch Jones.

I can say this though.

As much as I hate losing to UT, a strong Tennessee football program is good for college football as a whole.

If you had to live in the middle of that orange puke, you'd understand how I feel. They are the worst winners in the world, when they win. I don't really mind a weak college football landscape if Tennessee is terrible.

I would love to play Terdersee in the SECCG every year and destroy them every time. Beat their asses twice a year every year.

While I don't now, I have in the past. So, I truly understand your feelings on the matter.

Growing up I respected UT and Fulmer changed that...their fan base, well part of them at least, are a different story.

Right now, I'm willing to give Jones a leash. How short it becomes? We'll see.

Worst winners and worst losers also. I have a ton of respect for the Tennessee program, it has the 2nd most tradition in the SEC next to Alabama. But their fans display it in the worst kind of way. Don't believe me? Check out VolNation when they're talking about Alabama, or Neyland Stadium after they lose a tough game.

That said, i do hope Tennessee gets back to being Tennessee so the 3rd Saturday in October can mean something more than just bragging rights.

I've always hated watching games with them; though I would never watch an Alabama/Tennessee game with them (other then my wife who's a Vol, but not because I want to watch the game with her). They make up new rules to the game as the game goes on, there opponent who ever they're playing should draw a flag on every single play for something only they can see and it's like they're watching a completely different game than everyone else is watching. You would think that would be entertaining, but it's really not. I agree that Tennessee has the second richest winning tradition in the SEC; Thirdtober in many years was the SEC Championship game before there was an SEC Championship game, but there fans have no class.

As much as people say a good Viles team makes college football better I'm fine with mediocre college football if it means the Viles keep losing. I don't wish them success in anything, I want them to be losers every year in every sport.

Kirby Smart could get the HC job there and I would hope they would lose every game they played by as many points as possible.

Here's what's crazy in my eyes.

I actually understood why they wanted to get rid of Fulmer when they fired him several years ago. Since that run the first year of the BCS and the subsequent title his record versus ranked teams was abysmal. I'd have to take the time to research it (something I'm not willing to do this Saturday morning) but I recall it was something along the lines of a winning percentage of .333 against teams ranked in the top 25.

We all thought the hiring of LK was a mistake. But, I don't think anyone expected such a dramatic downturn in their program.

How did Cornwell finish at The Opening? I understand he did not make the Elite 11 at the end? He started strong but seemed to have fizzled down the stretch relative to the other QBs. I heard one of the coach commentators there that Cornwell having such a large frame for a QB had difficulty with proper mechanics. Thanks.

This is just my personal opinion so take it how ever you would like. :biggrin_blue:

I'm not quite sure how to judge what happens in events like The Opening. There are a few reasons why.

QB's- They are in 7 on 7 competition. On one hand you can point to kids who are extremely accurate and say that bodes well for the future. Then you have to take into account it's a limited rush from defensive personnel so can you judge their judgement accurately?

The rankings are how they did in 7 on 7 drills. It's different than other rankings (IE: 247Sports, Rivals, Scout, etc.) because those rankings are based on how they are projected to perform at the collegiate level (and often if they make it the league.)

Lineman- A lot of one on one drills which can bode well for their individual talent. However, no pads. So, it's it more strength of their upper body we're judging or is it more fundamentals? An argument can be made on both sides.

WR's- You'll see kids get open and get open quickly. That's a good thing. But now we're talking what amounts to "two-hand touch" football. How physical are they? How good are they blocking up-field? Can they shed tackles or do they drop at a single breath?

In the end what does it tells us? I honestly don't know.
