Alabama rising junior running back Derrick Henry is changing numbers, according to his Twitter account. Henry tweeted on Wednesday he will change from No. 27 to No. 2 for his junior season from his Twitter account (@KingHenry_2).

Henry led the Crimson Tide with 990 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 172 attempts in 2014. The Alabama tailback also caught five passes out of the backfield for 133 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

This past season, senior wide receiver DeAndrew White wore No. 2 on the offensive side of the football. He ran out of eligibility and will enter the 2015 NFL Draft, leaving his old number available for Henry.

The No. 2 was also Henry's number during his playing days at Yulee (Fla.) High School.

I wish he would have stuck with the initial #3 he wore at the beginning. That's my number, but maybe Scarborough will get it. I understand wanting that same number from high school. Funny how that means a lot to each and every one of us as an identifier.
