🏈 The crowning of Anthony Grant or the crowning of AJ McCarron?

Yeah, I think Sims wins the job in the Spring, I almost even think Saban looked at him to be the starter next year this whole time-- though obviously, everyone and their mother will disagree with me and Saban is far from ever admitting who it'll be.. Sims just gives a few more options, I think his mechanics are better, (if you notice AJ has a very long release) tho he is definitely not a $cam or Jesu--I mean Tebow, and I think his arm is better, watch him in warm ups
Is this for real?

I'm going to bite and say that Grant becomes the bigger disappointment. Simply because the decision to hire and fire a basketball coach at Alabama takes a long time. Yanking a QB who isn't cutting it is, in theory, a much quicker decision. If things head downhill, he won't be playing long. Though, through Saban's tenure at Bama, there have been times when a QB change might have done some good, and it didn't happen. JPW against MSU in 07 comes to mind. Greg McElroy proved himself early and often when he took the reigns, but he certainly looked mortal against SC in 2009, and was sacked so many times in 2010, that his stats were clouded.

Saban's not quick to yank a QB, and I'm sure it's a good thing to do so. But in certain times, a right hander and a left hander can bring different things to the game in baseball. I would have to think that in football, certain QB's might be better in certain situations than others. Perhaps SIMS becomes our short yardage guy, or our AJ does.

We got any other options? Probably, but with Anthony Grant, you have none. He's the coach. You're married to him.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic about Grant. This season will be much like last year. We have a potential All American in Releford, but there are still some talent flaws on our roster (only a couple of outside shooters and our inside bench players are both talented but raw). We may do a bit better than last year but I don't expect a big jump in our team's performance until next season.

Is this for real?

Do you have an actual rebuttal or just a complaint about my opinion? "Is this for real" says "I'm an idiot and can't come up with anything to say other than a rhetorical question..." :panic:

To elaborate on my point, assuming you want an elaboration, yes, I think Saban saw Sims as starting as a redshirt freshie. When he signed there were articles all over rivals saying he was the best recruit Saban had gotten thus far (of course I disagree with those, but it shows you what the country and people who are paid to know these things think) Have you noticed that AJ is 6 foot 2 120 pounds btw and Sims is 6' 1" 200, a man, and has a cannon? I'm not taking anything away from AJ but I think he is just a better version of GMac whereas Sims could be better than both, more versatile, and a hard nosed, pro style QB-- a.k.a. potentially perfect for a Saban offense that needs a pro style QB with the hard nosed-ness that EVERY college team needs...

Please, tell me your thoughts "GivinEmTheBusiness," you obviously have many...
