I think it was equal parts. Clemson coaches have stated, OTR, they spent most of bowl practice prepping for Bama. They only spent like 4 days on ND.

That has to be taken in context. Clemson's staff has been looking at Notre Dame quite a bit this season. There were what, four common opponents this season between ND and Clemson? While they may have only spent four days prepping for their game against Notre Dame specifically, they'd been looking at ND game film all season in prep for teams like Wake, PItt, FSU, and 'Cuse.
