I haven't watched Texas play much this year but Bama had better be ready. My take from what I have seen this year and from last year.

McCoy is an outstanding passer with pretty good speed. He's accurate in the pocket and can throw on the run very well. His speed allows him to hurt defenses by picking up 1st downs when they lose containment.

Texas has 5 receivers with over 30 receptions each and Shipley has over 100 for the season. Shipley is an outstanding receiver and is a threat every time he touches the ball. Williams is a big receiver that can make some plays also.

Nebraska put pressure on McCoy all day long and this is the key. It's hard to throw the ball if you're on your back. Suh is a one man wreaking crew and he's better than any DL that Bama has.

I expect some blitzing by McClain and a few CB blitzes off the edge to punish McCoy and keep him off balance.

My keys to the game. I'm no expert but this is just how i see it.

1: Hit McCoy. Early and often.

2: Be aggressive offensively. Attack down field early.

3: Use the tightend. Peek is a great player and has shown he can make the tough catches.

4: Don't get caught with a safety on Shipley. That could and probably would lead to a big play.

5: Play smart and don't give them any free yards.

i think we need to be carfeul with the corner blitzing....if our Dline doesnt get to him fast enough McCoy is good eough to read the corner blitz and put the ball in the right spot to hurt us. we need to get pressure with the front 3 or 4 and let the corners cover.

On defense, the same strategy we employed against Florida would be very effective against the Longhorns. They are an excellent offense, but too reliant on McCoy's passing and not enough on running or run blocking. Their offensive line is permeable. :P

On offense, again, the same message. Bama needs to use it's strengths, which is in ball control. You do this my running, run blocking, and possession type receiver work. It would be nice to have the downfield play, and we need to use that throw to keep them honest. But running and slant pattern throws will be sufficient provided our defense does it's job.

Play to your strengths.
