šŸˆ Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has named Quinn Ewers the starting quarterback

I dont even know that he was a great OC....
In the entire history of Alabama football there's been one offensive coordinator in Sark's league when it comes to play design: Homer Smith. There's been two that are in his league for play calling; Kiffin and Smith again.

Sark's play design is a proven commodity through his time at USC, Washington, and then at Alabama.

And Atlanta?

And entire history is a long time.

My point was with 2020 team. A lot of players on a team just better than a lot of players on other teams

I would go with kiffin over him in all areas

You're seriously coming back with that?

As many times as people pointed to ATL before he started his role at Bama as OC and now, in retrospect, once again, we saw what happens in the NFL—except on a very rare occasion—has nothing to do with what happens in college football.

Steve Spurrier, based on your reasoning, wasn't a good offensive guy. Just look at Washington.

Just as a heads up. We're about to see the same trope proven wrong with O'Brien this fall.

Excuse me if i am wrong. But spurrier and obrien were HCs.

Much different world

And oc at bama in 2020 ( and 2019) was a different world than most sandboxes most OCs get to play in

Who called the plays when Spurrier was HC at Washington? SOS. Who called the plays for the Texans? (BOB called the plays from 2016 - 2020 until he gave it up and turned it over to Kelly.)

Hell, look at Cam Cameron and his time at Miami. He called the plays there as well. But, when he landed at LSU what happened to their offensive? A big difference in '12 and '13 when he took over for Studrawa.

Kiffin, the play caller in Oakland ...

No different from the "sandbox" Sark and Kiffin were playing in when they were at USC.

And cameron. Had a bama like team especially with joe Burrow ( like Cams anything when at AU)
Burrow was in high school when Cam was in Baton Rouge.

And spurrier. Losing record
And obrein. Fired
Both great offensive coordinators in college.

Going back to what I said earlier but I'll pose it as a question.

Other than Smith, name a better play designer than Sark in Alabama's history.

These men weren't good in the league. They are in college. The coaching talents very rarely translate from college to the NFL, or vice versa. Pointing to the NFL as a mark on someone's resume in college? Is it fair to say that's a strawman's argument? History supports this.

Doesn't mean he is great

Perkins was considered a o genius ??
Kiffin changed from one style of O to another

Mal did pretty good as oc in 70s

Better. I don't know
Hard to judge because talent is significant

Sark was effective with bama talent
See how he affects the o at Texas

Big difference between HC n OC though
