I’m selling one of my trucks. My son is handling the listing and talking with folks about it.
Anyway, has anyone dealt with Texas Auto Value? They have a decent offer and are bringing cash. Meeting my son and I at the police station tomorrow morning. They seem a little too good to be true. I’ve read a ton of good reviews on line and a few not so good. I was just wondering if y’all had heard or dealt with them. They’re original offer is $2500 more than other dealers that have contacted us.

this was the easiest vehicle sale I’ve done!!!
Dude flew in from Texas with $40,000 cash ($3000) more than the black book/trade in value). We talked for about 5 minutes he started matching #’s on the truck. He hooked up his cpu to the truck contacted his home office in Texas, cranked the truck and they ran a diagnostic test remotely while I counted and checked the cash. I finished counting and checking all 400 $100 bills. We signed some paperwork, bada bing bada boom I’m driving away having sold the truck. I could’ve gotten 3-4 more grand, if I had sold it to an individual. I would’ve had to sit on it a couple weeks and met with people trying to Jew me down. I’d definitely recommend using them. My son did all the messaging and talking to get the deal set up. They’re initial offer was about $5000 lower but they moved up pretty easily.

Jesus Christ! (Some may think that's blasphemy. It's neither. It's a prayer and an exclamation.)

Yesterday, I literally sold three wedges to a guy who owns three stores here in town: cell phone industry. He literally told me, "I'm going to 'Jew you down' on your price." Jewish, he is, to the core.

His wife is from Ashdod; born and raised. He's from Ashkelon. (Yeah, I texted him just to be sure I had this right. I almost wrote Bat Yam but remembered that it was part of a joke about his wife's cooking. ) And he laughs at this notion?

Yeah, I know who I'll listen to on this one. And it isn't a media guy who happens to claim to be in the defense of the Jews.

I'd love to spend a few hours looking over their lot. I wonder how much it would be above asking for the same vehicles here? (Fly in four hours, drive in 18...so, have to save at least five bills off the top.)

Same, but different note. A friend who lives a street over bought a truck through Carvana a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to talk to her about how that went. GOOD looking Chevy! I didn't see it delivered. It was early morning so I heard them...seems like that transaction was less than five minutes.

Me? Mostly in the wee hours of the morning. IF I'm there when they are open, I'm on my bike. Three, maybe four, sales people have talked to me when I was on my bike: they recognized it didn't come from Walmart.

2106 Tacoma Limited with about 65,000 miles on it. All is ok with it other than in 2017 young gal on cell phone plowed into 3 vehicles stopped in traffic, my Tacoma being in the middle of the 3. What at first appeared to be rather mild damage limited to the rear bumper area turned out to be a slightly bent frame (supposedly) which had to be replaced. All that went fine and you'd never know by driving it, but it happened.

Was just talking to the wife about the vehicle situation last night though, and we've pretty much decided to keep mine and get her a new one first since a) her's is 3 years older and b) she has to travel more than I do. Originally the plan was to give hers to Little Miss Van de Graaff in 3 years when she can drive and upgrade at that point, but I don't think we are gonna wait that long, plus I'd rather the Little Miss drive something else to start with. So, if I had to guess, I'll have the Tacoma for at least 5-6 more years at this point, which is fine, I like it, I'm just a bit too tall for it and that can get aggravating at times. I miss the room my old 2001 F-150 had.

Getting ready to get my wife something different, she has a '19 Highlander. I've never been fully happy with it. I detest having to turn off the auto off engine feature every time I drive it, and I never thought it handled that well. After putting 405,000 on the '08 Camry, I'm now over 100,000 on the '21 Tundra Limited. I love that truck, so glad I grabbed the last year of that model style with the V8. Wife can't make up her mind on a new car. Her two prior were Tahoes, so she enjoys a larger vehicle, but she also wanted a convertible. We've looked at some luxury and sporty convertibles, she's passed on them and has been fixated on Broncos for a while. We'll test drive the 6cyl, 4WD hard top in the next few weeks and I'll see about one of the small soft tops that replace the first two panels. I'm not crazy about considering the Bronco, but at least they've had several years to work out some bugs. Their 4cyl still stinks.

Mine is 2WD. I'll try to remember this conversation when the time comes to sell it.

Funny you mentioned the handling of the Highlander. I've always thought the handling on my wife's was pretty bad... it's certainly gotten worse over time. We rented an Acadia in Colorado last month and after driving around in my wife's Highlander, it was like being in a soundproof, gliding bubble. Got so used to the smooth drive and nice handling that when we picked her car up at the airport to drive back home, it felt like we were in an 1850's wagon on the interstate.

She's always wanted to get a 4Runner, so that may be next, but I think those are smaller than the Highlanders which isn't ideal. Not sure how either compare to the Kia Tellurides, but I've heard really good things about those from a couple of people who have bought them recently. And you'd know much better than me (my vehicle knowledge couldn't fill a thimble), but I don't think Kia has the stink on it that it had years ago.

A friend I play pool with has this years model: already a recall on the brake system. I didn't ask for more detail...he was a little pissed while sharing the story.

Carcomplaints.com is a great site for finding out about problems with older cars, not so much newer cars. Not on the road long enough for problems to surface.
