Altee Tenpenny, who played at Alabama before transferring to UNLV, has now transferred to Nicholls State University on Monday.
Tenpenny practiced with the Colonels on Monday.
Tenpenny, a running back, was the No. 1 high school player coming out of Arkansas and signed with Alabama.
In two seasons at Alabama, Tenpenny rushed for 218 yards on 48 attempts.
On April 2, 2014, it was reported Tenpenny was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in his home town of North Little Rock, Ark.
According to the incident report published by 103.7 The Buzz in Little Rock, an officer pulled over Tenpenny because of an āinoperational license plate light.ā The officer noted that Tenpenny āappeared extremely nervous and his hands were shaking uncontrollablyā while also smelling āthe odor of burnt marijuana.ā
Tenpenny admitted to the officer that he had āsmoked a bluntā earlier that evening, but initially said there was no marijuana in the car. However, the officer found a āclear plastic bagā with 2.1 grams of marijuana which Tenpenny later admitted he knew was in the car and said it belonged to him.
Tenpenny transferred to UNLV after the 2014 fall semester, but he was dismissed from the program on Aug. 14 for breaking team rules.
Tenpenny will have two years of eligibility remaining at Nicholls.
