Tennessee assistant coach Lance Thompson, formerly of Nick Saban's staff at Alabama, speaks to the Press-Register while preparing for Saturday's return to Bryant-Denny Stadium.
didnt Thompson or Kiffin, one of them, say something along the lines of Alabama wouldn't be touching any of the players from Tennessee and like the next day the top WR in the state committed to Bama? lol
Thompson originally explained the move as a "business decision," and continues to follow that line today. His reasons, he has said, were tied to the desire to work for Monte Kiffin. Alabama could have matched the money UT paid Thompson, but as Thompson said in January: "I could have stayed at Alabama and been a recruiter, always been a recruiter, and five years from now I still would be the same guy."
I think Lane is a smart guy, he got some weak coaches to sell out their old teams for some cash, but if things go sour guess what, they will be out on their collective A$$es and Lance will get another chance to sell his snake oil to another group of coaches.
