My opinion...serves them right.

Fan base raises hell and collects 35K+ signatures to fire him. He makes a great run in the dance and bids farewell.

He never was accepted by the vile nation. IMO, under the circumstances he did a good job getting a solid program pieced together in 3 years. The team made a nice showing in the big dance this year. Maybe at Cal, he will be appreciated.

Rationality and Tennessee basketball fans are not often uttered in the same sentence. Many of them wanted to do what the Barners did, hire Bruce Pearl. While they have had some great players over the years, IMO UT basketball (men's) has underachieved for the most part ever since Ray Mears stepped down. They have much too high an opinion of their men's hoops history.

Good for him. Tennessee fans are terrible. They never give him a chance because they keep riding on Pearl coming back. Now Pearl has gone to UT, Martin runs to Cal after a sweet 16 run, and now they're left with nothing. Maybe treat some coaches with a little respect and realize what circumstances he was under before you throw him under the bus. Pathetic.
