| FTBL Tennessee / Pruitt sanctions announced

Oh boy. He's gonna have to start over and I really thought he would be hired just to get his suspensions out of the way.

Plainview was his fist job, so in a sense, he is starting over. But, part of that is by choice.. he could have had a higher paying NFL job, he wasn't interested. His dad is the Plainview HC.

He will land on his feet...

AU has both bball and football head coach getting sanctioned.....so not end of world...
And you know he has money...

But al that "secret witness" stuff from Fulmer n Tennessee....vs bama .....
Paying a hugh karma bill ....and bama boy dealing it to them....
Forever grateful....JP

Honestly, I expected an announcement coming from Pell City and not Plainview. Thought Propst might try to get the gang back together again. Was JP “too toxic” for Rush?😂

@UAgrad93 he's got nine years, by my count, in the Alabama high school 'system.' Is there a 10 year vested mark? I'm wondering if years spent in the high school system are different than his time at Bama.

If I'm counting correctly ... he's got 18 years in the Alabama system as a whole.

@TerryP I think you are correct on the vested mark, but more importantly......I believe that the retirement you receive is based off the average salary of your last 10 years in the system. This is why Dubose quit coaching HS in Alabama and went to Jackson, MS and coached at Milsaps. He didn't want to lose the salary from being HC at Bama being factored into his state retirement. @UAgrad93 can probably give us more detail in this area.

Not sure how it works for high school, but Tier 1 Alabama state employees' retirement is based on the average of the three highest paying years of your last ten.

Your retirement is based on the average salary of 3 of last 10 years in the system. You are vested after 10 years in the system. I would think that his time and salary would be considered for his retirement benefit. Just not sure how much of his salary came from state of Alabama vs other sources.

@64Tide Not sure if you're referring to Dubose or Pruitt, but with either case. I know most of the time the bulk of the salary is through private donation. I'm sure if I wasn't so lazy, we could look online and find what Saban's actual state salary is. It is public knowledge. I am going off memory and it can be fuzzy (kind of like I was close, but not dead correct on the last 10 years and average salary thing). When Saban first got to Bama and was making the crazy amount (media's words) of 5 million per year, I think his actual "state salary" was like 200-250k (ball park) that the university paid. The rest of the 5 mil came from the likes of Drummond, Bill Battle, Paul Jr, etc.

Years of service is then multiplied by 2.0125%. Example 30 years x 2.0125
Is 60.375 times averaged salary equals retirement benefit divided by 12 to get monthly. State of Alabama Retirement System is one of the best. The CEO David Bronner prevents our lawmakers from getting their hands on ithe funds.

Is it where the money comes from or who writes the check? Donations can come from many sources but the school writes the check (with relevant deductions for taxes, retirement, healthcare, etc).

He did it by hiding it all under golf courses...

State bases your retirement off of the 3 highest paid years of your last 5 before retiring when it comes to elementary/HS time.

10 to be vested in the system. Not sure about any differences between college and HS when it comes to retirement.
