In East?

I saw somewhere that Fl is in drivers seat. I thought Tenn controls their own fate for SECCG.

I am confused. How is the East champion determined? Division record or conference record. Wasnt there some discussion on changing the div record to conf record some 8 years ago.

Overall conference record is how divisional champs are determined. Tennessee is now 2-2 and Florida is 3-1, with Tennessee holding the tie breaker for head to head.

On paper, Tennessee has the easier schedule. Both teams have a BYE this Saturday. Florida has the better team and the better coach.

Florida remaining schedule:
bye
Georgia
Arkansas
South Carolina
LSU
Florida State

Tennessee remaining schedule:
bye
South Carolina
Tenn Tech
Kentucky
Missouri
Vanderbilt

With yesterdays loss, 2-loss Tenn no longer controls their fate in the SECCG, 1-loss Florida does.

However the remaining schedule looks better for Tenn than the Gators.

UT's remaining SEC opponents are: USCe, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vandy

UF's remaining SEC games are: Georgia, Arky, USCe

If UT gets some of their hurt players back the only stumbling block I see for them is on the road at Vandy.

UF has the "cocktail party" against Georgia after a week off and then goes on the road to Arky and on the road to LSU.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the Gators drop one to Arky and/or LSU and UT runs the remainder of the table and we see them in ATL with players back and revenge on their minds.

While tenn's schedule looks better than the rest of the least of the east, there are still a lot of injuries to be considered. The game plan is, they have their bye week, get healthy, and blitz the sisters of the poor on the back half schedule. But their players have been hurt when playing the Ohio's, Appy State's as well. Mabin has surgery and Sutton with a broken foot will be a long shot at best. Pretty sure the DT that was dismissed will not return.

Point is, Mizzou, USC, even Kentucky and Vandy can hurt a wounded tenn team, who could even be disappointed after the beatdown just inflicted. If Florida has an offense with Del Rio back, who knows, they could lose another game and still get to Atlanta.

You right UT has the better path to winning the East. USCe has given UT a lot on the field, and Vandy too. Now I was thinking that UGA would win the party game this year, but after the Vandy game. I don't know now. The Hoggs game will be a hard one for them too.

We will play slUT again. Only assume they will be healthier and I would expect a more competitive game.

Fortunately, can't think of a better coach to get ready to play a team we destroyed to be ready for the rematch.
