The crucial games in the BCS chase

The first BCS poll is out and already the experts are proclaiming two teams as shoo-ins for a date in Pasadena on Jan. 7. While Boise State, Texas and Florida seem to have a somewhat debris-free road to maneuver, other teams like USC and Alabama have some landmines to clear. Obviously, a conference championship game is the final hurdle for many teams, but if we left those games out, which teams' games will determine whether or not they are in the BCS championship game? Lisa Horne tells you which games to circle in red.

No. 2 Alabama Sure the game against LSU on Nov. 7 would be the easy pick for the most important game of the Tide's regular season. But Saturday's game against Tennessee is just as important for two reasons. For one, it's their chance to beat the Vols into submission --something Florida didn't do -- and possibly leapfrog the Gators in the polls. Two, this has "trap" written all over it. Vols coach Lane Kiffin would love to spoil Bama's run and catch them looking ahead to LSU. While it's doubtful it will happen with Ingram wearing down the Vols' D, weren't the experts doubting Utah in the Sugar Bowl last year?

This guy must not know about the rivalry between Bama and tennessee. To say that Bama could be looking ahead to LSU is kinda crazy, IMO.
