🏈 Team that will take 3 years

So much depends on the quality of coaches you get in to help teach your system. Also, if they are top quality, they won't be staying in StarkVegas long enough for the team to come around to be very competitve for long. State will be a stepping stone for any assistant to go someplace else.

If Mullen has any success, I see it as a very easy "pluck" for a major school to come in and hire him.

Of course. Who really wants to build a life in Starkville when you get down to it. That would be a depressing realization; that you were stuck for 5 or 8 years in that gloomy pit of rural slum barely earning as much as assistants at big boy schools.

Nail to head. It's a shame too that MSU is the type of program that will probably never maintain long-term success, but they're playing under some horrendous conditions. It's like Washington State playing in the PAC-10. They're PAC-10 in name, and in name alone.

What State needs is a T. Boone Pickens, except have it be old Southern money or an off shore oil rig billionaire type booster.

They say that Pullman, Washington is pretty much the armpit of the world, and there's no reason for a kid to want to go there. That's not helping recruiting either. MSU is in the same boat. No money and it's a lousy place to try and recruit to.
