🏈 Take a look at 'Shank,' a k a Tide freshman NG Alphonse Taylor (video)

I decided to ask about him last night and there are high hopes he can contribute, significantly, by Ole Miss/Mizzou time. I'm also told he's dropped 30-35lbs.

Saw him today up close and personal. He is a Beast!!! The one that is down right scary to me is a little redshirt freshman; 6'7" 298lb. Animal, LaMichael Fanning!! Saw him during pursuit drills and I thought he was going to lay me out along with about 7 others!! I look for big things from him this fall.

In a thread Lance started a few weeks ago asking who we were expecting to see a lot from this fall a few of us said Fanning. Reports, as I'm sure you've heard being there, are "he's the one turning the most heads in Tuscaloosa this weekend."

How was the speech from Parcells? Did he have any comments on how the practices, etc., were conducted? Give us a run down!!

I had to leave early. Had to get home to pack for our Spring Break trip. I wanted to listen to him and be there tonight for Holtz. I saw Cris Carter in the lobby yesterday morning. It gave me some glimmer of hope about Duron. A HS coach told me that he brought a wr of his down for JR day, and he asked a GA about Duron. GA told him that he would never see the field. I hope the GA was just feeding him a line.

How about a short yardage D with him at the nose and Dial and Jesse on the ends.

That is a lot of cheeseburgers on that line lol.

I think a lot of people often forget about Dial in the mix. We have lots of depth there and I wonder who the starters end up being. What were the others looking like so far- Ming, Ivory, Pagan, Stinson, Love and Pettway... I had also heard that Bonds was turning some heads but in I tend to think hes closer to the middle of the depth chart (dont tell coach i said depth chart)

I've decided it works like this on the depth chart.

We've got guys we know are going to play. Some folks call them starters or first string. Meh.

"They're ready."

We've got a bunch of guys we know are going to play, and it's a large group."

"They're going to be ready."

I chuckle because combining "I thought he was going to lay me out..." and "6'7" 298lb" often does leave a "Beast", "Animal", and "down right scary" impression.

For a half second there I suspect Fanning had your vote for the Pro Bowl.:icon_lol:

LBS, I stand 6'2" and 240, so I am no small man myself. They had a line painted 2yds off of the sideline to keep coaches back. The first defender bounced the kid out of bounds and he then used the red line as his sideline. So this got them all alot closer. To see a kid his size move that quick was impressive. I have never seen kids that are built like the ones we put on the field. Scott Cochran does an outstanding job!!
