Alabama returned to the practice field Monday when rain forced the team inside. Here is what I saw during the limited viewing period.

Senior safety Geno Smith was back at practice after serving about a week suspension for his DUI arrest. Smith was working with the second team nickel defense during drills.

With the first team during nickel drills was Tony Brown at left cornerback, Bradley Sylve at right cornerback, Maurice Smith at the Star and Hootie Jones and Ronnie Harrison at safety. Be on the lookout this week for a feature I'm writing on Harrison, a promising young player who I'm really optimistic about this season.

At running back with Bo Scarbrough out with a torn ACL, it was Derrick Henry followed by Kenyan Drake, Ronnie Clark and DeSherrius Flowers going through drills (in that order).

The wide receivers went through drills in the following order: Chris Black, ArDarius Stewart, Raheem Falkins, Robert Foster, Derek Kief and Parker Barrineau.

Both running back and wide receiver has lost a player to injury so far during the spring, but it's important to remember that those positions also have players coming in over the summer (Damien Harris, Daylon Charlot and Calvin Ridley).

Nick Saban doesn't speak to the media again until Wednesday.

Alabama star defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson suffered an ankle injury during practice Monday, according to sources.
However, the injury is not believed to be serious, according to sources.

Widely viewed as one of the top defensive lineman in the country, Robinson posted 49 tackles as a sophomore last season, including 6.5 for a loss.

Am I the only one hoping Geno's discipline is not yet fully served? Maybe he's back to practice but more punishment to come? Please tell me that's the case.

I'm right there with you. Suspension from all activity doesn't seem like punishment, because that's time he has for video games and such. Hit him hard with game time suspension, hurt draft prospects, and make him work hard in practice with no satisfaction during the games. Make him watch.
