I rarely check out al.com much anymore because IMO most of the writers aren’t very good. However, this one today, by one of their good writers Michael Casagrande, has a lot of great info and is well worth the read even if you disagree with his rankings.

A Very good article. The thing that jumps out at me is that after 2008 Saban had 10 or more players drafted from every class. That's an insane number, and I wonder if anyone else can even come close to that kind of production. That means that if you sign with Bama you have a better than 40% chance of making it to the NFL, based on a signing limit of 25. That speaks volumes not only about Saban's ability to judge talent and potential, but also his ability to develop that potential and get these kids ready for the NFL. And it also shows that he is the best at spotting and developing talent in his staff, because he consistently hires the best coaches in the game. Saban has developed an unprecedented machine at Alabama and I don't think these records and statistics will ever be matched. There is no one in the country that could do what he has done. It's good to be the king.
