🏈 Super Bowl LI

Yup.

Then again, ATL's D was pretty legit against the Pack.

Maybe they continue that momentum.

Will be fun to see Donta give Julio a friendly drilling on a slant, tho.

Falcon's beat a tough defensive team in the Seahawks. Then turned around and beat a great offense in Green Bay. Good measuring stick cause New England will be the best of both those guys. Still, Falcons are on a roll and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the Brady bunch.

If there is one position Belichick puts very little faith and even less money into it's WR. Moss happened to fall into his lap at the end of his career but mostly Brady has made a career out of throwing to tight ends and small slot receivers. Running back is not that high on the agenda either.

If Belichick tries to take Julio way Ryan has many other options. He has more weapons than Brady. Julio will gets his yards with a double team this will be a fun game to watch.

If I were the DC, I'd man up and bring 5-6 on every passing down, mixing in some fire zone, etc... Get in Ryan's face early at the risk of giving up an occasional big play, to make them adjust and leave a TE or 2 in pass pro.

More blockers --> less WRs---> less coverage responsibility, so you can effectively bracket Julio.

But I'm rooting for Jew-lee-o.

Teams have tried that all year. The problem is you can bracket Julio all day long but you're leaving a playmaker all alone. Either Sanu, Gabriel, Hardy, Robinson, Hooper or even one of the backs is going to make you pay dearly.

ATL isn't a one tricky pony anymore. Green Bay's whole gameplan was blitz Ryan early and double Julio. So Matt just spent the entire first half throwing little quick passes out to Sanu, Gabriel and Julio still beating double teams... then after being torched for a half they were forced to try zone and then even some man and that's when Julio really got cookin.

I got a feeling if New England goes that route we're going to see a lot of slants to Julio and Sanu early mixed in with some little screens to Freeman and Coleman, and boy you dont want to get Coleman in the open field.

Atlanta's defense is really, really underrated especially since the bye week. They've forced a lot of turnovers and been getting after the quarterback despite a slew of injuries with key players. I still think its going to be a shootout though. Gonna be a fun one regardless.

And listening to Patriot fans and the Boston media has been insufferable this week. I truly hope Atlanta humbles them.

Brady's played in 6 super bowls not including the LI, each of them have been close games, either 3 or 4 point games. What's the line on the game, 3 points.

2015, 28-24 (Patriots)
2012, 21-17 (Giants)
2008, 17-14 (Giants)
2005, 24-21 (Patriots)
2004, 32-29 (Patriots)
2002, 20-17 (Patriots)

I believe the Falcons have the team to change that, not sure they will.

Falcons will pressure Brady, should be a fun game to watch. I'd love to see Julio get Super Bowl MVP.
Same but more likely they would give it to Ryan, no matter what happens after the ball is caught. Also doubt all the completions would be to Julio, so that would be the built in excuse, if say Julio had 200 Yd(180 after contact) and 3 TD but Ryan threw for 400 and 6 TD. It is the same as the Heisman, almost always a QB and occasionally a RB, never a WR. The one difference, they occasionally give the SB MVP to a defender.

It dawned on me yesterday that while I don't really have a dog in this hunt Sunday, there's a part of me that wants to see Goodell hand Brady the trophy for MVP. I can't say why because I don't know a lot about RG outside of what I've seen online and in discussions.

He wouldn't have to do that though. Goodell hands the trophy to the owner (Robert Kraft in this case) and then walks off. The owner then usually hands to the coach who hands it off to the MVP.
