sec: most offenses are predicated on using running backs along with a good quarterback and defenses are much more stifling
big 12 (10? whatever the hell is): qb play and shit defenses are the norm. and they use a running back every now and then

and yes, i know we didn't play an sec opponent. but most sec offenses are built to stop sec defenses. therefore, the running backs are of better quality and are used more often than in other conferences.
