I also didn't like Foster discussing Mack Wilsons hit..."As Attempted Murder"
Not a good look for the team and i think field office will take note. Another one of those and he will get tossed. Just kind of hamstrings our guys in going for the hit. I know Foster was excited and all to get to do an interview.......but I get a feeling that Foster will not be doing anymore.

Video: Reuben Foster describes Mack Wilson hit as ā€˜attempted murder’

Yeah, that was a rough sound bite. I see what he was getting at, but it sounds bad after Sumlin went to the SEC with it and one of our own guys describes it like that. Oh well, another week of waiting now.

I didn't see a problem with comparing it to "attempted murder". I always told guys that were playing for us, that football was the one sport were you could legally hit someone as hard as you could and not get in trouble for it as long as it is between the whistles. Now I know targeting changes that to a degree, but you really are trying to hit someone as hard as possible.

Only question I have, is that a tooth flying out of Speedy's mouth when you see it in slo-mo at the 56 second mark?

I think most of y'all are taking it the wrong way by calling the ones that are saying it was a bad choice of words, pussies. One, with the way targeting is called, you want attempted murder tagged by this by an Alabama player on a 'no call'? Two, you don't think different words could have been used than a problem dragging society down today? Not to mention "attempted murder" means he was trying to kill the guy. I simply think it was a poor choice of words, but of course some will always come to the rescue or anything and everything Alabama. And saying Coach knew those words would come out of his mouth is pretty short sided. I'm sure he would not approve the term. Anywaus, I think it was one of the best hits I have ever seen where it was within the rules and both players aware of it, unlike crackbacks and earhole shots and such.

Dont get me wrong.....i loved the hit! It was amazing. However.... I am more concerned with this coming back to bite us later. You dont think Gary's comments about it being targeting.....TAM appealing to the field office about those hits....and now your own team calling it attempted murder...will have any effect? Its the same reason why Saban chews out a ref early in the game. Becasue he knows he will get a make up call later in the game. I would hate to see Mack make a bug play against LSU and get tossed because refs are now looking closer at his hits because his own teammate says he was trying to "Murder" him. Its just not a good look for the team or the university.

It just seems to me that Saban would not like that phrase being used at all, especially in the media...especially if it could hurt the team later

The rules are the rules , vern and Gary begging for the call won't make a difference to anyone except the conspiracy theorist, let's just hope no refs are in the BAMA privilege camp and decide to take up the cause .
