🏈 Still not understanding why Julio is not touching the ball more...

Could someone explain to me why Julio is not touching the ball more. I understand the triple coverage but there are other ways to get him the ball. What about slip screens, reverses? I just don't understand why one of our best play makers is not getting touches.

That's not what I was saying genius. I was simply saying get him touches not force the ball to him. Julio is very good in space and hard to bring down. He is being underused IMO. The crap against Ole Miss was a joke because it was forced. There are other ways.

Oh noez not this again?

All kidding aside, I want us to go back to what was working in our passing game and that was spreading the rock around. That will keep secondaries honest and not double/triple team Julio as much. Then, maybe just then, we can bust them up with a nice deep throw to Julio in stride. Until then defenses will continue to cover Julio as much as possible.

We need to just raise up and throw directly to him a few times in my opinion. They were giving up a pretty nice cushion that could have been exploited a few times last week.

Easy passes for Mc to get some completions and confidence from also.

I liked seeing him return punts. It got the ball in his hands and he had some good returns but we always held/clipped. I know we have one of the best returners in the country in javier but Julio looked good.

Julio is making a huge contribution in the running game. I think he has proven himself to be a quite effective blocker. Personally, I don't want to risk injury to Julio or anyone else with trick plays if we can win with smash mouth football run it down your throat but we do need to improve our passing game over the past two games which both seem to be trying to involve Julio more. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

i dont understand it either man he needs the ball it seems like all we do is run him deep can i get a slant or somthin a post route maybe? and we can do it without forcing him the ball so i dont wanna hear that because georgia doesn't have near the runnin game we have but they seem to fid a way to throw to aj green just fine.

One of Georgia's main issues is they don't have another receiver that has proven to be a threat this year.

In a lot of ways, they look about like we did last year in our passing game.

So we signed Julio to be a run blocker? I am glad he does it well but his talents are not being used to their full potential. There has to be ways to get him the ball. He is not the only talented receiver in the history of the NCAA. Florida found ways to get Harvin the ball. LSU got the ball to Byrd and Doucet last year. A.J. Greene gets the ball. Again I am not saying key in on him all game but the punt returns show what he can do when he gets the ball.

i havent seen him drop many easy ones becand grits yea a couple but but everyone does and alot of his drops he has been because the ball is thrown behind him like in the south carolina game not making excuses still a drop but tough catches not saying we force the ball to him but he should get some touches there are ways.

I'm curious what your answer or suggestion to this "problem" some of you think we have.

As mentioned, I could care less if it were Big Al catching the ball. Just get it to the guy who's open and can make a play.

And yes Julio has dropped passes this year that he should of caught. Remember how last year he was able to have catches in almost impossible angles and scenarios? Remember he did all that with a supposed wrist injury (IIRC)? He had surgery off season on his shoulder too (IIRC). To me, he hasn't looked like the same Julio as last year. You can see on some of the passes that he misses that he is frustrated and knows he should of caught them. Not sure what is bothering Julio this season but something is not the same.

I'm not dogging on Julio as I love him as much as the next Bama fan but I don't see what the hangup is with focusing on Julio so much as some of the other fans and media see in it. He is an awesome player and is a hell of a threat and I'd love to get him the ball more but what else is there to do that hasn't been done? We've thrown to him when he's open. We've throw to him for pretty much an entire game. We've thrown to him in double and triple coverage. The only times i've seen him have some bad passes his way was from the last game or so. Most of the season the passes have been or what should of been easy catches for Julio but he can't seem to bring them in like last year.

At any rate there is more to being a WR in this day of football than just running a route and catching the ball. He's been an asset to this team just by his presense on the field. I'm also glad to see him actually doing some decent blocks this year than how he was attempting to do them last year.
