No. 1, it's LA Chargers not San Diego (forgivable).
No. 2, doesn't realize Spencer Ware isn't playing (he should know this with as many producers and staff as ESPN has but forgiveable).
No. 3, Derrick Jonson has not been a Kansas City Chief since 2017 and hasn't been in the NFL at all (Oakland was his last team) since October (and wasn't a starter then even).
No. 4, Hunter Henry hasn't played a single down this season because he tore his ACL in the pre-season.

Then he doubles down and embarrasses himself even more.



Instead of just admitting he is clueless and he messed up, he claims he just mixed up a guy that hasn't played at all with a tight end that has been targeted a total of one time in the last five games as the tight end he thought was having such a great year... completely ignores Derrick Jonson...

This is beyond sad. Dude is the highest paid ESPN employee, too.

And yeah, Smith uses his volume to project that he knows what he’s talking about and that he’s right and you aren’t. Take his words and read at a normal volume and no exclamations.

When Get Up! had its talent shuffle(s) I saw several articles suggesting Beadle was "canned" from that show due to her comments. After reading those articles I felt it was a chauvinistic take—that "women in sports" argument again.

Here's the thing. On the heels of the announcement she's leaving Get Up! ESPN gives her a contract extension and a new show back on the West Coast. An extension that had been in the works for quite some time, that involved her own show, and was back in the area of the country she wants to live. Along with all of this ESPN moved its hub for NBA reporting back to LA. When you look at the entire story ("she's canned due to...")the timing doesn't it—but her comments do. It was a bad transition from one to the other, no doubt. But the latter was already in the works.

I've followed Beadle's career and it's not the first time she's said something like this. I truly believe she feels the way that she does, but I also believe her emotions speak more quickly than she can process at times. She quick to speak and it's "oops" a little farther down the road.

Another thing I considered of note. Her comments were about the Ohio State, Urban Meyer, Smith, Zach, et. al., situation and it was right at the time we saw some of the major news figures "distancing" themselves from what McMurphy was reporting. As you recall, ESPN stood back and—for once—reported on the story very "dimunitively."

Ron Franklin might have been the 1st to get the shaft over comments about women when he called the ESPN female back in 2011. The guy worked for them since 1987 and I thought he was pretty good.

Sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards wrote in an e-mail to USA Today in response to Internet reports Monday that Franklin called her "sweet baby" in a condescending tone Friday. When she objected, he used a derogatory term. Edwards said a colleague reported the incident to ESPN officials.
"Based on what occurred last Friday, we have ended our relationship with him," ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys said Tuesday.
Franklin had worked for ESPN since 1987, calling primarily college football and basketball. He focused on the Big 12 in recent years.

Yes, but what ends up happening is that you can't regulate stupid. How many times people get all lathered up in a hissy fit and they pull a Rosanne and hit the send button and their career is over in an instant. Modern technology doesn't come with a pause button.
