247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong breaks down his reaction on the news and what UA is getting:

“With Tyler Booker there might not be a prospect in the 2022 class that fits Alabama’s culture more than him. Which is coincidentally one of the biggest reasons why he chose the Crimson Tide — the culture. It’s a program that despite all the assistant coaching changing has continued to produce first rounders, and he credits the culture for that.

For him you look at IMG Academy, they’re the defending national champs, and he’s the clear leader of that football team. I spent the first day of their spring practice at IMG and he’s the tone setter for that program on the field. When you talk to the coaches and the strength coach, he’s the tone setter in the locker room and in the weight room as well. So he’s a supreme leader.

Beyond those intangibles, he’s a ferocious blocker on film. He punishes defensive linemen on Friday nights. He moves well, he’s got length, he’s smart, and he’s stout at the point of attack. Like I said, he just punishes defensive linemen. So between his mentality and his physical gifts, he’s got a chance to be another great one to come out of Alabama.”

Alabama has once again tapped into the pipeline of five-star offensive linemen coming out of the IMG Academy in Florida, this time landing Tyler Booker, the top-ranked offensive tackle and No. 7-ranked prospect overall in the 2022 class.

Booker, who is originally from Connecticut, picked Alabama over SEC rival Georgia. He took official visits to both schools in June. He also visited Ohio State, Oregon and Florida.

"I didn't expect to feel the way I did after I left," Booker told ESPN. "The culture was more impactful than I anticipated; everyone is committed to being great."

The defending national champions had the fifth-ranked recruiting class in the 2022 cycle prior to Booker's commitment. At 6-foot-5 and nearly 330 pounds, he is the next top offensive lineman to come out of IMG Academy.

In 2019, Alabama signed Evan Neal, the No. 4-ranked prospect overall who is a projected first-round NFL draft pick in 2022. In the 2021 cycle, the Crimson Tide signed OT JC Latham, the No. 5 prospect overall, who has already impressed Alabama coaches during the spring.

I my humble opinion, this type of line of scrimmage player is the biggest reason CNS keeps dominating the recruiting landscape.

And seeing Evan Neal do lunge box jumps... that's just uncanny.
Zach Rice is another. IF that falls together he'll need a year or two to add some weight. He's still in that prototypical physique: 6'6" and getting close to 300lbs.

Be nice to get him considering they have him as a big Virginia/Ohio State/Notre Dame favorite right now.
VA and UNC have the edge right now over the other two. The distance from home is the major factor here but I know Sunseri is locked in on a few guys and Rice is one of them. Bama's in it, may not land him, but I'm not one that's going to write off Sal in these matters.
