🏈 Stadium Experience

-The sound system was loud.
-I think the "colored" end zones are sharp.
-We parked over by the museum at approximately 11:30am and got out with no problem.
-I was fortunate enough to be in the northeast corner, so I could look at the other replay board with no problem. I've never seen a game at BDS before, so I have nothing to gauge it against re: no scoreboard.

Other thoughts:
-BDS does a much better job giving updated national scores throughout the game than Utah's stadium. That made up some for the complete lack of service from AT&T.
-Smoking in the concourse was a unique experience.
-Walk of Champions was a lot of fun.
-The pregame intro video was real nice. Utah's marketing staff couldn't be bothered to update the highlights from week-to-week for theirs, so that was unique as well.

I had a great time in my first trip to Tuscaloosa. I'm glad it didn't rain; the tailgating enthusiasm blew my mind; and 92k for a football game is truly impressive.

Did you wear your Utah hat?

i have parked by the museum a few times myself but nothing was available by the time i got there and the soccer field was filling up so we parked behind arby's for 10 bucks and found out you can park at arby's for 10 bucks this year. I wonder if Arby's is charging that or who? I guess if it is Arby's if something happens to your car they would be responsible

Ah, on the side of the street or in a lot by the museum? I am taking the wife and kids this weekend and would love to park closer than the grass by the soccer lot. I didnt buy a pass this year for the soccer lot.

we normally park at the Catholic Church right down the street from the Museum. its $20, but they leave the church open, have nice a/c and nice bathrooms and a big room to watch other games ( we still go to the theatre)

this past weekend we parked at the soccer field because the other lot was full... I'll be there at 6 am this saturday to get my spot :)

Glad you enjoyed yourself Ute. (as already said the expierence for an SEC tilt is much more intense)

DId you wear your UTE gear? If so how were you treated?

HAd you been to Alabama (state) before or first trip? Thoughts?

Did you do anything special other than the game?

BAsically a trip rundown is what Im asking for!

-I wore my Ute hat for two or three pictures to show my Ute friends. Outside of that, I bought a houndstooth ballcap from the bookstore to wear.

-It was my first time in Alabama. I liked it. The campus has that "Southern" feeling to it. And the people were very nice, very friendly.

-If driving three hours each way from Hattiesburg to Tuscaloosa counts as special, yes. No, not really. When I got to Mississippi Friday morning, we drove around the Southern Miss campus, but we mostly just relaxed and got ready for the game Saturday.

And when I say I parked by the museum, there's a credit union perhaps 100 yards away that we parked at. Boy Scouts were manning the lot.

Here's my pictures from the trip:

It's quite apparent that Terry is dressing Nick these days.

Cool picts, glad you had a good time!

From those of you who actually attended in person, I'd like to hear some comments regarding the Stadium experince in light of the changes and changes underway.

~With the construction, how was getting into town and into your seats?
~Did the new speaker system make a big difference?
~Were there comments about the new field (i.e. red endzones)?
~What impact is construction having on the South endzone seating?
~How did the lack of the large scoreboard impact the experience?

1. It wasnt to hard to get on campus. But, that will change i think once a big time game comes around.
2. It sounded alright, I guess. I didnt even realize there was a new speaker system. So, no......I guess it didnt.
3. To me, the red endzones look great. I like the change.
4. From what I could tell, nothing. They did away with the big screen and scoreboard on that side, but I dont think it actually took away seating.
5. I thought it stunk. The fans in the northend zone have no chance at seeing the little screens just below them. I guess it just the price to pay at this point. There is no way they could build the south endzone with that big scoreboard in the way.

The benefit is that it gets you a TOP 2 finish in the Sugar Bowl.
