🏈 Spurrier Looks Like He Needs to Hang Up His Cleats

Spurrier doesn't seem to have the fire in his belly that he did in Florida. His Gamecocks were absolutely CRUSHED last year in the SECCG. Yes, Cam Newton and company had a great team. But the Gamecocks looked poorly prepared.

I don't think Spurrier is ever going to have much success at South Carolina. He doesn't seem to have his heart in it.

It's not his heart. It's his inability to recruit a better QB than Garcia. Garcia singlehandedly blows games from them with his turnovers at the worst times. He has had one game in his whole career when he played up to his ability AND intelligence the whole game and that was against us last year. People have mentioned drinking - I don't know about that. Not sure it matters, but he has a fundamental flaw and Spurrier should have moved on from him a long time ago.

I just wondered about the play calling of Spurrier. His Heisman candidate RB is going against one of the worst rush defenses and he only gives him 17 touches for the entire game. Instead of giving the ball to Lattimore to let him run time off the clock and (probably) win, he puts the ball into the hands of his wildly inconsistent QB. Maybe Auburn's rush defense was was that much better this game, but I would think Lattimore should have got more than 17 touches.

It was curious. There may be extenuating circumstances. Bama had games like that last year with Ingram. You never know. Doesn't make much sense though, does it.
